Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2020 Edition)

Cold ride today. Mostly dirt roads, but we hit some easy trails. They're a snowy icy mess still, bit it was fun.

Looks like good weather incoming this weekend! Will be riding both days if it holds up
you should see the week after :)

Are you guys washing your bike after every ride? Riding through those salty puddles can't be good.

Ride your bike, put a smile on your face, and stop worrying about it.

Someone said a few years ago "Not riding your motorcycle to keep it's resale value up for the next owner is like not borking your girlfriend when you were in your teens to keep her (ahem, hmmm, ummm, uh) "unyielding" for the next guy". ;)

Are we saying that the bolts don't get harder to turn as they get corroded by salt?

The risk is dramatically overrated by motorcycle owners. Reality is I just wrenched on my 10 year old Volt that's seen 10 solid hard winters and I had no issues turning nuts and bolts. If your average car can survive 10 winters being driven day in and day out in the salt, a motorcycle isn't going to turn into a giant corroded ball of rust being ridden a few times a year in some briny water.

Does it make a mess? Sure. But just wash it off. And ride. Miles = Smiles.

Anyhow, on a different front, I heard talk on the radio today that they're not anticipating the border reopening before mid-summer at the earliest, if not later.

I'm so incredibly burned out of riding in Ontario. I honestly see my typical mileage dropping drastically this season if things don't open up - I'm desperately craving a few big mile rides but there's just nothing left within 1000km in any direction of the GTA that even begins to turn my crank anymore. Day rides are nice, but.... I went out last Tuesday for a few hours and don't get me wrong, it was nice to have some wind in my face again, but it was the same old roads.

I want to go somewhere where the first stop is 1000km away, and there's 5000-10,000km more on the odometer by the time I get home a week or two later. Unless the borders open up that's not going to happen.

I booked 3 of my 5 weeks of vacation for late summer this year with hopes things open up and I can get at least one big endurance ride in. I crave that ****.

Three coasts in Canada you can like fit a few 1000 km days in that

Ahh, I'll try it, I use a garmin gps running watch to track me, it's fun to see all the data after the ride
I use the Rever App on my phone to capture the ride route, it does a bunch of other stuff but I only use it for that, and then save the route and a picture of it to mark the day. I have a Garmin GPS though if I want to plan something out for longer trips. It also saves random routes which I don't plan but just ride for the day.

WTH ... just got back from a walk down by the bluffs.....annnnnd well the bugs are out!! :(

I guess it's a sign of spring....

Was good today, got chilly though, later.

I wish I could be riding right now - my pool tarp slew footed me on Sunday, fell over a stone wall and broke my fall on the interlock below with my face.

15 stitches right where my helmet crushes my forehead and a closed eye are limiting factors.
