nice out now tho

Was a nice ride in to work this morning! +4°c when I left home with a light rain.. just enough to keep the visor from smearing from road splash. About +7°c here at work in Vaughn. Tomorrow looks like it will freeze up later in the day so no riding for me tomorrow.

New rider here:

In regards to salt damage to bike, what's the best remedy?
I was watching youtube video's that were just saying to wash key components of the bike every time you ride in salty areas.
Would you lube/clean chains every ride as well?

Let me know what works for you, I definitely want to ride as far into winter and as early spring as possible haha.

I agree with MacDoc, as a new rider these are not conditions you want to be out in, as tempting as it is with the temperatures finally having climbed a little. Things like sand in corners & granular salt still on the roads in places will ruin your day in a hurry as a beginner - salt on your bike will be the least of your concern.

Wait until we get a decent stretch of weather and the roads clear up decent before even considering winter riding.

Welcome to GTAM regardless, Favious. :)

And yeah, the weather for the next 24 hours looks like it's going to be, uh..."Interesting". Heavy rain all night, freezing rain transition tomorrow, then snow, and then a flash (and solid, the temps are going to crash) freeze of all the moisture still on the ground.

On my walk with the dog today downtown, saw a black sports bike and heard a ducati monster near by but couldn't figure out where as it was. Sound was bouncing off the building on king.

I had a meeting after work in Richmond Hill. In addition to riding home in the pouring rain at +4c it also was extremely foggy as well.

Not the most enjoyable ride home but I love to ride regardless.

Talk about a fast switch. If i had planned ahead i would have been able to get my Wing in for the change i'm planning. Not gonna happen now.

But! Feb 18th is near at Mohawk.

That's ok, it's looking very Ossa out there today :D

Driving into work today it was +10.5°c when I stopped at the light at hwy 48 and Bloomington. Half a km later it was +4.5°c. It dropped to +3 by Keele (but got a bit warmer as I headed down to Rutherford area.)

Going to be quite the changes today!
