who works in a suit and tie office and rides to work?

He was racing to pick up his GF who was flying in to Amsterdam and he had stayed too long in Southern Gerrmany (Munich?)...he was awake for about 20 hours straight trying to make up the time; it was about 1:00 AM when he fell asleep. He was an idiot and should have known better - his father died in the 1970's when he also fell asleep at the wheel (in a car), crossed the centreline and had a head-on with a truck. Maybe it's a genetic thing??

How the **** can you fall asleep while riding at 160?

I have come close to falling asleep at 130 before on the bike... not hard on a long straight highway. Scared the **** out of me. Maybe I'm prone to it though as I did fall asleep in my car once many years ago but I was working night shift at the time, only getting 4 hrs of sleep a night, and it was 4 hrs after my shift ended and I hadn't gone to bed yet.

My workplace doesn't have a dress code but I still don't like spending all day in riding gear or sweaty clothes so I ride to work in shorts and t-shirt under my 2 pc leathers. Just bring spare clothes and shoes in a backpack and change when I get to work. I could probably shower if I want (we have a gym in the office with a shower) but I don't bother. Usually rinse my face and hair though just in the sink. Stuff all my riding crap under the desk.

I used to until the building management started inquiring about the strange, arcing tire marks in the parking lot.

I commute everyday from March till November and where dress clothes 4 days out of 5. I layer up in my Rev'it! Sand jacket and pants, no problems whatsoever regardless the weather.

LOL flashback, weekend donuts at the work's parking lot with the mustang back in the 80's.

When Anna had her DRZ(and the ZX6R) streetbikes, I used to back it into the back corner of the parking lot in the morning.

There is an uphill, lefthander(or a downhill right) where my parking spot is and I'd just come in before the pleebs started to show up.

One of our employees bought a new bike from a local dealer yesterday and he was told, under no circumstances was he to let me ride it.

I'm saddened by this terribly.

There is this lever on the left side of the handlebar. if you let it out more gently those marks won't happen.

hello guys. i was hoping to start something fresh and new for the forum. if you havent read my posts already, i plan on getting a motorcycle and relying on it as my only source of transportation other than public transit. during the winter i plan on go training or ttcing to wherever i need. i do go to gbc downtown, and i was looking on my future, thinking if it would make general sense to ride to work in a motorcycle when you have a professional dress code at work. who here does it and what do they do?

For what it's worth: rode to Burrito Boys Tuesday after work (I worked until 8pm tuesday in Woodbridge.) I was the only guy there in suit and tie. :) I rode home last night. Heavy downpours on the way home. Rode into work this morning, heavy downpour though about 30 minutes of my 50 minute commute. My collar wasn’t done up quite right on the way in so there was a minor damp spot on my jacket collar. Apart from that perfectly dry.

seems like everyone already chimed in. I'm not needed. You can bring clothes in your backpack if you like but on really hot days your back will be wet. Keep some clothes in the office just in case. Carry your rainsuit at all times. I wear overpants over my pants and keep spare shoes at work so I don't have to lug them with me everyday.

I like showing up to meetings in a skirt and heals and hear my boss explain how I am a biker. He loves bragging about it.
I wear gear to work, jeans etc and change when I get there. Summer all my heals are kept under my desk so I have my options.

Over pants and jacket. I leave my shoes at my desk, and if I really need a suit jacket it hides in my side cases.

When I used to work downtown, I would take a shirt and dress pants in a backpage and ride with gear, jeans, etc, then change at work, and keep a jacket and shoes at work.

Now that I work so closer to home, and the dress is more business casual, I just ride in my chinos/khakis and keep the dress shoes at work.

Next week the weather will be great so i'm look forward to donig just this :D

yeah, I haven't figured that thing out yet, I'm still working on this whole "THROTTLE" deal.

Motorcycles are pretty complex, so many things to do at once.
