Who The Hell Is "Intact" Insurance? They Raise My Rate $200

Switched to TD. My broker sent me a cover letter advising I switch companies when my Intact/Jevco quote came in lol

I dropped about 200 a year with the Jevco switch. I'll stick around for another year.

I was completely dropped by Jevco in September, and I never received anything from them with regards to their acquisition by Intact until I received my cancellation notice. Shopped around and did get a great rate with Aviva through Mantha.

Yeah I got the same message. Going from $1200/year to $1550ish. Thanks for selling out Jevco. BTW Pegasus, I have a 750cc "sport-tourer" as well (Okay a 1986 Yamaha FZ 750) - My broker said I had the best possible rating I could have with Jevco. So why was I paying 3x as much as you? (I'm 28 - that can't be all). And who is your buddy with insuring an R6 for 740?

How long have you had your motorcycle licence? I have had it since 2004. I'm 40 but it doesn't make a difference from 28, you are over 25 anyways.

I will ask my friend tomorrow who is he insuring his bike with.... but he lives in Kitchner, maybe that makes a difference.

You're 40?!

I never would have guessed, I thought you were in your early 20s

I was at $1050 /yr (comp, liab.) for an 08 CBR 1kRR w/ state farm, but switched to all-state this year for $768 ($64/month). Late 20's, 2 cars and a house in waterloo. I actually didn't even think of quoting them until someone else on a 1kRR mentoined it. If anyone is interested contact Grand Redferm GRedfern@allstate.ca ( I have no affiliation with this organization other than now being a customer)

I'm an olde farte, with a mostly clean record and I don't live in the GTA. That must explain why my insurance went down by $150/year after Intact took over. The bike is a 2003 FZ1. It had been about $900/year up until this year, then it dropped to about $750 plus I can pay it in installments.

Yep, that was the Intact jump.

Mine went from $630 to $830 on a clean record, 6+ years driving, 3+ years with an M and a 1986 BMW K75.

Called around but not too many people were offering less than $800. Finally Royal Bank of all places had a rate that was close to $600. I sure hope this crap is over for now - I've gone through three insurers in as many years now.

Late 20's? How many years riding? how many years with M?

I'm looking to insure a 2013 ZX-6R ABS and my first quote so far was $6150/y.. I also have 2 cars and a house and am 27, been riding a full year now, only have M2.

Is it gredfern or gredferm ? you spelled it both ways.
