Who owns a SuperSport and goes speed limit

Who or what is LEOs?

They're lovely folks that give you nice yellow pieces of paper commending you on your official speed, if you win the prize, they give you a nice pair of silver bracelets and a complementary ride in their cars!

+1 highly recommend.

Op... learn what time and a place means. Teach it to your friend for when he's doing 296 on his ninja 300.

Just wondering how many of you own a 600cc+ bike and only goes speed limit all the time. My friend has a Ninja 300 and complains it too slow, he does 180km/hr + consistently on the highway, while my other friend on his Yamaha R1 I haven't seen ever go past 120km/hr.

If he thinks 180km/h is too slow, he should not ride an SS. He's going to lose his license, it's just a matter of when.

I ride a Ninja 300, and on a closed course found its top speed to be 170km/h on the odo. GPS tracker had me at 164km/h. Stock bike, virtually no wind, and I weigh 155lbs. FWIW.

If the speed limit is 100 kilometres per hour, and I'm only going for 1/2 an hour, I go 200.

My bike isn't a SS but is fairly close to one, and that said I treat things really no differently than I do with the car. Getting the odd minor ticket is one thing, but speeding constantly and getting multiple or getting pegged for 50 over (HTA172 territory) just isn't worth it.

I think the comment about age and experience really comes into play here. If you want to go all out or push your limits, you really should take the bike to the track. If we are talking SS bikes, technically that's what they are made for anyways.

They even trailer you bike away for you and put it up in a $200/night hotel.

but if you're going 60 miles per hour, how many miles will you have traveled in one hour?

This is why I downgraded to a 125. It'll do 160 and all I need is 150. 160 is hard to hit but it can hit 150 pretty consistently. That's indicated, though, and I've never compared to GPS to see how accurate it is. Yes, 150 is near redline but it survived going 140-160 all the way to Ottawa and back. Gets really bad fuel economy at those speeds. Any faster and I'm going to lose my livelihood (if I lost my license I wouldn't be able to get to work or do many of the jobs I do).

On my "slow" 650R I was speeding by 2nd gear in the city. I felt like I was babying it all the time. Only real difference is now I ride at high RPM.

125cc 2stroke are pretty damn fast. I consider picking up one for the track. Sweet little thing. When you imported yours it was track legal only? or did you get mirrors and turn signals too with it?

Didn't import it. The 125's were sold as street legal by some Ontario dealers. It wasn't supposed to be, though, so the mirrors and signals were extra $$$ (about $1000 at the time, the kit is around $1400 now). I bought used so all that was done for me already. I could have bought a brand new, old stock, one from BC for about the same price ($4000 + shipping) but I was worried about getting it street legal so I didn't bother. There is a dealer in Ottawa that still has one sitting around from 2009 but they want $9000 for it (price it was new in 2009) plus $1500 to put the street legal stuff on it. I think they're out to lunch.

I know a guy selling a mint one for about $5000, if he hasn't sold it yet.

How much did you get the complete bike for? I was looking for one but after imports fees and all it just was too expensive.

At that price range why not go for a 250/300?

Or do you just like riding a rare bike in the city.

One thing i love about the RS125 is the riding position is much more aggressive. Not upright like most low cc bikes.

LEO is not correct term

PRG is more appropriate. Provincial Revenue Generators, that's what they really do. it has nothing to do with laws, justice or serving the public
