Who has lost their Port Dover Virginity?? Leave a comment

First year for me. I met some interesting folks (one guy from a Canadian Forces veterans' club stands out), but my overall impression wasn't good. It's a biker culture event, and after awhile it all just seemed very lame. Sons of Anarchy shirts? Check. Tribal tattoos? Check? Obnoxious pipes? Double check. I'm not sorry I went, but I won't go back.

The best part of the day was riding home along the Grand River road around 6 pm. It was a beautiful day and I had the road all to myself. To each his own...

Yup

Traffic heat and crowds....

Although this was my third trip to PD 13 - it was one of the best. We rode in from Scarborough with 25 bikes and blasted out of Dover to take the scenic lakeshore road and River road home.

So no, I'm not a PD virgin...

Getting home to a cold beer and swim ended a great ride...

By any chance were you rolln with Road Hogs RC if so I was on a blue ninja rolln with you? There was exactly 25 not including myself. You said 25 people maybe its just a coincidence.

Nope, went in with another crowd - left Scarborough Town Center at 7:00 am. (mainly metric cruisers with some Harleys thrown in). Coincidence - yes.

... And, call me old fashioned but my own girlfriends boobies are enough for me, i've been with her for 4 years now and she still is the only one that turns my head. I don't need to sit around ogling other ones. Hmm maybe i should change my nick to cranky_johnny too? .. lol

Not "old fashioned" at all. Very admirable, and sweet! I hope she knows how you feel. Women like to know. Trust me.

It was my first time at Dover was nice to have gone and see what the excitement is all about!

Not sure if I'd do it all the time. but never been to Dover till then and want to go back on a non 13th weekend and check it out.

This is what I new I was going to see but wished we didn't lol. (especially in the background)

Left hwy 400 and 9 at 7:15am with a group of 8 arrived at Dover just after 10. My 3rd time and it was the biggest event even more so than the the 50th ride event. Ya it was freakin hot...and lots of freaks...but it's a blast for bike watchin or people watchin. Four of us headed over to Port Colborne and stayed with a friends bud and partied to the wee hours and stayed over. Came back to Newmarket around 4pm sat. Good times...it's like halloween in summer....will definitely go again.

Got down there at 9:30pm, parked, checked out some girls, couldn't find my friends that were in watching the bands (they were wasted by this time, so I had no chance to find them)
I managed to avoid a flashing from a 300lb biker "babe" and decided it was time to head home.
Wish I could have been there during the day

whale watching just aint my thang[/QUOTE

This Dover 13th thing is like Grand Bend on any long weekend in the summer and not just bikes. However there's a lot more camping area than someone front lawn.
However you'll need to pre-book months in advance.

I saw this zebra'd ride in Kitchener. It was turning more heads than wheels, haha, good job to that artist.

I finally went in April of this year and it was quite busy then. There was no way I was going to go in July; I am not that much into crowds.

Here is a photo from April 13, 2012.

Was my 4th time to Dover this year, and probably my last.
The ride home is too long in heavy traffic for me, back to Lake Simcoe.

A friend of a friend owns a house there...Absolutely fabulous views. PD13...glad I went as this was one of the busiest ones but would not return, one of those 'been there done that things'. Memorable but not worth another trip unless just going to chill at my buddies place (which I would love to do on any given summer day) From buddies back yard...P1100729.JPGP1100733.JPG

Being from Port Dover I can assure you it is a great little place in the summer when it's not too busy. Been to dozens of PD13's growing up, this year will be my first as a motorcycle owner though
