Just got my PAL and going for my restricted. Planing on doing some target shooting and I.P.S.C runs with a 22 pistol anyone got any recommendations for a good starter something on the low end?

Probably going to be one of my first purchases but I need a Safe and to get my paper work in first and that wont be till feb after the restricted. Hopefully i can get in before the Ban.

In Canada. Its against the law to store a loaded hand gun in the house. Irresponsible gun ownership can kill just like irresponsible driving.
Since this is a restricted firearm it would also have been locked in a container and a made unable to fire either with a trigger lock or some other means.
Terrible tragedy but entirely the owners fault given that kids are around he should have taken better care.

No your not and you don't have to. Examples of irresponsible gun use and storage are great learning tools its just a shame that often it comes at the expense of a life or serious injury.
I mean i get it in the US you want a weapon to readily defend your self and given that its your right. But even the NRA teaches not to load the weapon until you are ready to shoot and with a kid running around lock that **** up!

Yes it is. But just because a tragedy happens with a firearm does not make everybody irresponsible or an idiot! I work in a hospital and the injuries I see from industrial accidents, to good Samaritans with poor judgement pale in comparison to firearm injuries/ deaths.
