Very much worth the trip. 5 min from my place. Short Johns, mmmmmm.

I'm in Durham and for a quick run (about 200 km) I like to head out to Jackson's Point and do Lake Drive. There is a little convenience store that seems to be pretty popular for street meat. I usually just stop in to get a drink and watch the owners patrol the parking lot like the Gestapo. Last summer was particularly fun while this 65+ year old lady was chasing people off the lot with her cooking tongs.

On the way back I stop at Annina's Bakery for butter tarts. My family enjoys those.

On the longer runs, I like to make my way out to the Muskoka's and run hwy 118 from Carnarvon to Port Carling and stop at Turtle Jacks for a bite. That usually makes for a really enjoyable 400km+ day.
I second lake drive. Nice little route. And i think i know which convenience store you talking about.

When things open again this is a great place to visit...

You're in a good place for a lot of scenic rides from there and some great places to visit.

North West of there is...

There's access to a big trail system near there if you have a dualsport otherwise you can visit DelOro which is an old gold mine, now used as a radioactive dump. Can't see much as it’s fenced off so you don’t grow extra arms but it’s interesting anyway.

Further North West is Eldorado, the site of Ontario’s first gold rush.

I was always a fan of visiting the ‘1xx interesting things in Ontario’. I always prefer to have some type of goal in mind so it gave me a direction.

Now I’m planning on just hitting up local breweries and fill the side luggage.

Are you a fan of "Roadside America"? It's a great site full of quirky stuff to see in both the usa and here.

Haven’t heard of it either the American or Canadian one @timtune and @ifiddles

Will have to look into it. I assume it’s ‘Roadside Canada’?

We we're planning a trip to loop Lake Michigan a few years back and the Squeeze was searching those sites. I came home one day to her telling me "we're dining with jesus on our way to hell"

We had lunch here (while watching rods pull into a car show next store)

and then headed to Hell Michigan. For the price of a postcard (sent from Hell) they put a stamp on it, torch one corner with a Bic lighter and mail it for you.

Port Dover
Ya I know...we've all been there.
Knechtels is open...they do not have there pic nick tables open however.
We got ours to go and went to the city park at the top of the hill this past Friday.
The weather was just perfect.
Perch diner is now $16...did the price drop?

I know Subway is a chain but you cant swing a dead cat around here without hitting one.
But more importantly where to eat...
This was along the Niagara River just outside Niagara On The Lake.
There are plenty of picnic tables all the way to Fort Erie.
Plenty of bikes out this past Saturday.
