Where to get motorcycle key cut?

I've had to get a key cut for my GS500...HARDEST THING EVAR!! Been to 5 different places(CT,HD,Walmart) all failed!
This place got it right the FIRST TIME. They've got a huge wall of keys and it's very affordable. $6 for me.
Front/Sherbourne Downtown Toronto. It'll be worth the ride if you're far.

Good luck!
Thank you for this.
I work in the neighborhood and never thought of going to that hardware store at Front and Sherbourne.
They cut me a Katana key for $9 (incl tax)

Just thought I'd reply to this as I found this forum and this thread via a Google search looking for where to get a key cut!

Did you have to bring your own uncut key at this place? Or do they have Suzuki OEM keys ready for cuts?

I ordered am authentic suzuki blank off ebay for 5$ and paid 3$ to get it a cut at a locksmith in Pickering town center.
If you're not in a big rush to get one made, this is the best way to go about it imo.

Just got my Hyosung keys cut for free at Canadian Tire, as long as you bring your own blanks it's FREE!, because they don't charge for labor, only for the key itself, if you bring your own it it's free.

I had the same problem with my 1990 honda.

So I bought on ebay, wrong key came.

buy at honda dealership and save the trouble.

any local place will cut it

I bought a used bike and the seller only had one key. I want to make an extra and tried wallmart and canadian tire but neither had the right kind of keys. It's for an 84 honda magna and it's a shortish key. Anyone know where i can get a copy made?

I walked into the local locksmith shop (literally 200m) from my house and $6 later I had a key that worked like a charm.

Bringing this up from the dead and supporting local business.

Went into Key Centres in Milton to get my keys cut.
$4.99 + HST per key.
As long as they do not have a chip in it, they can cut any motorcycle or car key.

They are generic blank keys with no molded plastic around the finger part.

I had two keys made for two different bikes. Tried them and they work fine.

This was cheaper than ordering a blank from eBay and getting it cut locally.

On a side note and comparison.
I also called a Yamaha Dealer and was quoted $20 for blank plus $7 cutting service.

If you are planning on buying a used Yamaha find out if it has the master programming key (red key)
The red key programs the black keys. Keep the red key in a safe spot
I little video explaining how to program the black keys.

A true locksmith like Bill's Lock Services : Locksmith In Mississauga can cut you a key without even having the original key. A little more expensive (I think it was $7 each, years ago), but then they were OEM keys with the Honda logo and plastic.

Plus Bill is a fellow rider!

I need key cut but the original key has chip in it (Although my bike is flashed so chip doesn't do anything, Bike can start with copied key)

Will they cut a key for me ? I have blank bike key as well.

I believe they will be able to. And the key should work if your bike is flashed as you mention.
They have a few different older style machines to cut keys.

I think what they mean by no key with a chip is they they cannot program the chip.

I’ve had all kinds of power sports keys cut at Affordable locksmiths at Birchmount and 14th Ave in Markham. The only key the could never do for me was for a HepcoBecker side case.
