Where To Find Motorycles For Sale?

Kijiji is great.
The reason why you might think it sucks is that it seems the same bikes are on there forever. That's because all the smokin' deals are gone within hours.

Exactly, the bikes that stay on kijiji forever are only there because a) the guy is asking too much or b) it has something wrong with it that he doesn't reveal until you email him. You do have to be quick and reload the page several times a day if you really want a chance to score a good bargain.

I got my bike my the same way as Denden, i had a custom search set up for the kind of bikes and price range i was looking for, then one afternoon one came up $500 less than every other ad for similar bikes on there, i was the first person to view the page (the counter shows on the bottom) so i emailed right away, and said i would show up with cash the next morning, which i did. I was cautiously optimistic thinking for the price i got it at there would be something wrong with the bike, but so far nothing, it runs perfect. When i had Rosey Toes come to safety the bike he said it was easily worth double what i paid for it, in fact he offered to buy it. So i scored for sure. The people simply wanted it out of their garage to make room for another car and didn't care that they sold it for less.

I still visit Kijiji several times a day even though i'm not on the market to buy anything right now, because i like to see whats out there. And there are some amazing deals that come and go fast. A couple of weeks ago i saw a mint looking 2006 1100cc Yamaha V-star on there for $2000, that's at least 3 or 4 grand less than similar bikes sell for, and the ad was gone within the hour, so someone scored on that one too i'm sure.

you can also check specific bike forums, most of the bikes will be from the US, but as you mentioned, it shouldnt be a problem

Searchtempest is a Craiglist and Ebay meta-search engine. Power search through all craiglists in all regions at once:

Yakaz is another advert meta-search engine for motorcycles

Super cheap stuff from the US government. You won't believe what's up for auction here. Lots of motorcycles during the season, mostly ex-police and seized evidence.

This is a good thread!
Thanks for the suggestions for a used bike.
I would have not considered Kijiji as a good source, but I can see there are hundreds of motorcycles on there.
This will take a while, but will have a look.

This post right here pretty much sums it all up. When I was looking for a bike I was constantly on KIJIJI. The window on work computer was always open. I knew what bike I wanted, price and KM. Only a couple fit my criteria at the time. Either way I went down to US and got me a better deal.

But yes, real deals don't last longer than a day.

Thanks for the responses. On Kijiji I search all of Ontario and have the distance set at 1000km. The "wanted to buy" maybe a good idea problem is i'm still not 100% as to what I want. I've owned everything but a Kawi in the SS class so i'm not biased but just incase anyone has any leads so far here is my want list.

  1. Price Max $6000.00
  2. 2003 Or Newer
  3. 20,000km or Less
  4. 1-2 Owners
  5. Displacement 600-1000
  6. No Touring or Cruisers
Thanks in advance to any leads and any suggestions or help provided.
My 2009 R6S fits almost everything above, I'm the 2nd owner, KM's are a hair over 20k I think, make an offer: http://www.trackfanatics.ca/index.php?t=msg&th=18&start=0&

Bought an 07 CBR RR. Have logged over 15000km on pretty much Sunday funday rides only. It's been great but looking at swapping to a Ninja 1000 or Z1000.

This is the response you get when I'm bored and have an iPhone.
