Where to buy gear?

John's a bit of a dick at Rider's. But he's got some decent kit and I'll still check them out.
GP Bikes is very good for a wide selection; they're just too bloody far out of town so I hate driving down there.
Royal's mostly cheaper stuff (Icon, JR, S+S). Not too much mid-high end kit.
Zdeno's in Kitchener also has some stuff and 2Wheel in Guelph.
There's also Top Endz (are they still around? ...)

I used to check out Parker Bros (but I hear they're now closed) and, long time ago, 55 degreez for really good stuff...

I don't like buying gear online; I like to try it on first. I'll buy parts but not clothes. But I'm neurotic that way.
I usually try to wait until one of the motorcycle shows over the winter and check out a couple places all in one shot and they've normally got a deal to try to get rid of last-year's stock.

Don't be so uptight. Never had a problem dealing with John, you just have to get his humour.
If you walk in there trying to act like hot ****, he will shut you up. Quick! lol

You won't find a better selection if you're looking for high end stuff and their prices are usually better than any other shop, local or across the border.

I had my debit card out ready to pay the asking price for a helmet and he came over and reduced it for me. If anyone has ever had that happen at another shop I'd love to hear about it.

Yup, I got a stupid deal on my suit, back protector and undergear. Basically the same price that GP wanted for the suit alone.

Oakville Yamaha for some European brands that hard to find elsewhere. Great people there.

I get most of my stuff at Studio Cycle in Toronto, Puma / Alpine Star / Aria / Nexo Sports.
Great service center as well.

John at Rider's is great. You want to talk about *****, I wouldn't buy anything from Zdeno's if you paid for it for me. They've been horrible to deal with for years.

Gp is alright but in comparison to what their website shows you best call and make sure they have what you're looking at before driving all the way there.

I've not had any issue with him. Done a couple track days with his group. I've known a lot of other people that walked into his shop and he pretty much talked down to them due to them owning a "small" bike (like a GS500 or somesuch).

Yes. I will agree completely. But they have an ok selection of kit.

^^ They could have ten of every size of every piece of gear in the world and I still won't set foot in there. Their customer service skills aren't even as good as horrendous. :thefinger: zdenos

Lol... So are you going to say what happened or are you just going to keep us guessing?
