where do you carry your documents?

my guess is you've never been pulled over.

a photocopy isnt a legal insurance slip. I believe it must be pink.

I worded that poorly, the original pink slip from insurance + copy of ownership stays with the bike, I'm not using a photocopy of the insurance slip, my bad!

photocopy the ownership, get a pinkslip, put it in one of those little insurance slip wallet things the insurance companies give u. stuffed that inside the toolkit pouch under the passenger seat

LOL..you guys kill me.

I duct tape them to my helmet with reflective tape. Storage problem solved and others can see me better at night. Now where did I put my pocket protector?

Tank bag saves me from this dilemma.
For those who leave the documents in the tail storage or tool bag or anywhere else on the bike, please don't leave the original ownership with the bike!

I was a victim to auto theft in May, my Jeep was stolen. When the officer came to my house to ask questions and make a report he asked me where the original ownership was. I told him "in the glove box". He shook his head a little and edumacated me that the original ownership should never be in the vehicle permanently.
You should make a photocopy of the ownership to leave in the vehicle and also include an original pink slip at all times, in case someone else drives your vehicle (car or bike). There's a reason insurance companies send you multiple slips.
An insurance slip isn't proof of ownership so if your vehicle ever gets stolen, the thief can't register the vehicle in another name.

Lesson learned the hard way for me. Just passing on the information.
Since that day, I make sure I tell everyone I know to keep their original ownerships at home.

"Oh no someone has stolen my vehicle with VIN#444949290490132"

"Okay, we'll just put that in the system...."

"Oh look, the idiot is trying to register it! HA!"

Good tips.

In my wallet. Don't you guys carry wallets anymore?

This^. I don't know why anyone would admit on a web site that they leave it on their bike... double face palm.

I know this will sound silly but I had the same problem with carrying documents so I found a fairly small passport neck wallet and it is perfect for the job.
