Where do you buy your gear? Recommend me the cheapest local and online retailers...

Re: Where do you guy your gear? Recommend me the cheapest local and online retailers.

Actually, most of my gear comes from Italy directly. It's cheaper

Who have you used for online stores over there? I have an order coming in from motorama but it's been painfully slow just getting it shipped out.

I've found a few things 30% off what I could get it for in the US but what's more is they also carry some stuff you just can't find in North America.

Kijiji has a lot of clothing that is in really good shape. You need to know what you want first. Prices are usually less than half the price of retail, and most products are very lightly used. After all, our riding season is pretty short.

i've ordered stuff from Motorama, motostorm, fc.moto, motocard.

I found motostorm to be the fastest. I remember ordering a few items during the weekend, and I received it that thursday!

Problem I am finding with kijiji is the Amount of time it takes to shop around. I've already tried on two jackets, neither of which fit. So far, its been convenient for me to do those meets because they were on my way somewhere, but if I keeping looking around, this could seriously start eating up my time. I guess it depends on how bad you wanna save.

Buying online from royal distributing is the worst. Ur basically shopping from an e-catalogue and it annoys me. Anybody else feel this way

Oh damn, Re-Gear in Oshawa just got this in!!!

I'm having a bit of an issue with motostorm right now. Ordered two weeks ago and been told 5 times it is shipping "today". Sent them what will be one of the last emails and then I'll do a paypal dispute if I don't get a tracking number soon.

Edit: I'll update this when (if) the order ships as they do have some outrageously good prices of stuff.

for me anything half decent isn't in my area. I just tried to buy boots from kijiji (shipping) and the seller just scammed me out of $325. sucks.. I'm not hurting for cash, but I assume the welfare junkie is. I do have an IP address, and working on a few other things at the moment. Let's just say... a road trip is going to happen soon.

That is very surprising! I've dealt with Filippo, and now Andrea and i've had nothing but good responses on ANY inquiry. In terms of shipping, I haven't had one issue at all.

And agreed on the prices, they are awesome(especially with euro to cad conversion currently)! It gets even better when you get coupons every 200 euro you spend.

Re: Where do you guy your gear? Recommend me the cheapest local and online retailers.

I'm checking out that motostorm site. I think I might do an order. -20% off alpinestars smx plus and supertech boots. at an already cheaper than fleabay price.

http://www.motostorm.it/en/products/motorcycle/alpinestars-s-mx-plus-boot-vented.html

this price is what used smx plus sell for on ebay... for a tad bit more I can get new.

however settling on these http://www.motostorm.it/en/products/motorcycle/alpinestars-supertech-r-boot-2015-yellow.html#

damn.. price wise I can't go wrong.

Just remember, keep in mind conversion + duties + taxes when taking your final price into consideration.

Re: Where do you guy your gear? Recommend me the cheapest local and online retailers.

and the credit card companies are brutal on exchange rates....no where near the bank rate.

Still cheaper than going ebay route or even local.

This is true. A good rule of thumb for me when I do my calculations is I usually add .05 on top of what the current conversion is. eg. Today's euro to cad is 1.31. I would convert at 1.36 when trying to get the CAD equivalent to calculate duties and hst.

I'm a little surprised myself. I'd rather be told "in a week" than blatantly be told today, today, today over and over. I do hope they ship the stuff soon though as there's a few other goodies I want. They have incredible prices on Forma boots and other goodies.

Re: Where do you guy your gear? Recommend me the cheapest local and online retailers.

Update: Shipped today. Explanation of delay yesterday plus a few discount codes too. Will order again. Hope Fedex doesn't kill me with any fees.

...You can save money by shopping online make sure to try o the gear first at a local store like Royal.

And if you find some stuff you like at Royal, or any other local shop, buy it from them, dammit. When all the brick and mortar MC stores are closed because you're shopping online, where are going to try on your gear?
