Where can I find Ducati Steering Head Nut Tool locally?

I need the tool to adjust steering stem bearings. It's only $14 from BellisiMoto, but the shipping costs $25. Any local place that stocks this or similar tool? Not interested in the original Ducati one as it costs over $100!

I think I need to make one of those but I'm also thinking 2 pins might do it.

I'm not a mechanical engineer, but the manual calls for 30 Nm torque on this nut. Do you think 2 pin will be enough? The pins are pretty small diameter.

29 ft/lbs....pins would have to be stout

did you say, OP, you can get the proper tool for $39 ?
I'd be going that route

Fortnine might have it.

Fortnine does not have it.
Seems like I have no choice as to order it from US. BellisiMoto is a great store, I ordered several parts from them and never had any issues. What I hate is that the total comes to $40.31 from which the tool itself will cost me $5.31 (with 10% discount and some reward points) and the shipping $35 (almost 7 times more than the tool! My mistake, I thought the shipping is $25). Too bad we have such poor MC parts stores in Canada ... But the good thing is that I always receive packages shipped by BellisiMoto in just 4 days .

Maybe try Winners Circle in Markham?

Easy enough to test, just put 40 some Nm onto whatever I make and if it don't break or change in shape and dimension I should be good to go.

Ended up ordering directly from MotoMfg. The shipping via USPS First class mail was $3.70. Yes, I know it will take about a couple of weeks to get it, but I couldn't make myself paying 7 times more for shipping than the tool worth...

Hardened dowel pins. 2 probably would work, make one.
I found some needle bearings that are just a little too big, thinking just a couple chunks of metric twist drill shank would do it. Need to find a sacrificial twist drill now lol.

I should have maybe suggested this before the OP said he bought one, but I could easily whip a few of these up at work for a minimal charge if forum members gave a demand. I have a duc but havent needed this tool ........yet.

The RobStar pin wrench (y)
build it right onto the end of a cheap torque wrench and sell it for a tidy profit.

!@#$%^ just gave away another billion $ idea :censored:

Thats a lot of pin wrench sales. Id have better chances of being a billionaire selling cocaine before I could be one selling ducati tools lol.

I'm in Buffalo tomorrow if you want it picked up.

Ya, it might only be a thosandair idea, but I'm pretty sure it will fit some other bikes too so there is room for at least one more sale ;)

Thank you! I already ordered one, but if you happen to be close to the store and can pick up the tool - I'll definitely buy it from you.
see if you can cancel (i imagine it wont ship till tomorrow anyways) and see if you can have it ready for pickup.

If so just PM me and i'll do the deed for you.
