Where can I buy some thin self-adhesive felt?

Gotta take care of a few rattles going on with my fairings and around my car's windshield. I'm told thin felt will do the trick but I don't know where to get it. Canadian Tire and Home Depot and whatnot only have the really thick stuff for protecting your floors from furniture.

Something like this I'm guessing is what I need. I'd rather just grab some locally, though.

Also, I'm near Bathurst and St. Clair and commute to/from Pearson so somewhere along that route would be great.

Some thin foam might work as well but last time I went looking for some at Home Depot I could only find 1/4" thick stuff which wouldn't sandwich between my fairings very well.

Someone's gotta sell this stuff locally... it's used on cars and I've got a few little pads on my fairings already to dampen vibration/rattling...

try out any craft stores:

Michael's
Curry's
those are the two biggest craft store chains i can think of. WalMart may even carry adhesive felt in their crafts department.

Although I am not sure how well the felt will adhere, it might not be as durable an adhesive as you'd like.

Some weatherstripping or adhesive foam might be better suited to what you want... I know that the stuff comes in all different kinds of thickness...

home depot, crappy tire, or any hardware store should carry it, and its foam, so it can compress, and you can easily slice it down to desired thickness if you wanted to, and it will have a better adhesive than the craft shop stuff.

EDIT**: this one is thinner than the one linked above... http://www.homedepot.ca/product/adhesive-foam-tape/941505

this one is 1/16" thick, that is as thin as they get... i think, and my game download is complete, thanks for giving me something to occupy my time :)

Hmm that might work. That last one says it's 1/8" (0.125") but it might compress a lot. I was only ever able to find the 1/4" thick one you listed first.

Ive had good results with window gasket that you can get at Canadian tire or Home depot, they make some that are fairly thin...And foam so it does a good job stopping rattling and paint wear between parts that touch.

seeing as i didnt even read your post...i wouldnt suggest the thin felt.

the weather stripping is far better as it is foam, and has some squish to it.

I use it all the time for what johnny said

but i can part with some felt if you want still just come by, IMPERIAL ENGRAVERS

Alright I'll just try the foam. I've just never seen it thin enough.

yea, it is .125, 1/8, thick.

the only reason i recommend foam over the felt is that the foam generally comes with better adhesive.

also, if it doesnt squish enough, a razor blade and you can slice it as thin as you want, the stuff cuts fairly smoothly.

Adhesive backed felt is available for the bottoms of chairs, tables and furniture. It does not compress at all, and can be thinned if you think it is too thick. They come in 1" circles, rectangles and DIY-cit pieces. Look in the chair protectors, castors section of HD or any large big box store, even Walmart.

As I mentioned in the first post, I've seen that stuff everywhere. It's way too thick.

I'll be trying the foam anyway.

I just imported two rolls of different thicknesses of thin felt with sticky backing (rattle-proofing my car over winter) - I have more than I will need. You're welcome to a few feet of either depending on what you really want. I'm in the Bathurst and Eglinton area and am around all this week. Don't reply to this post or PM me as I'm not on here too often - feel free to text me at 4169307405 anytime. If what I have works for you then merry X-Mas :)

OP, you can get two sided carpet tape and felt from any craft store in lots of thickness and make whatever shape you'd like in whatever color you need.
