Where are you riding this weekend?

I know we have a designated rides section of the forum, but the dirt group is fairly small here, so any thread for us dirt guys wouldn't get much notice.

Figure we can throw it out there where we are riding on the weekends to maybe get some guys together to ride?
I most likely won't make it to any since I race most weekends, and the non-race weekends are supposed to belong to the GF I guess lol.

This weekend for me, the Cochrane track in cobourg with the MMRS series.
Open practice Saturday and we race Sunday. MMRS does day passes.
Fun flowy track, some nice sized safe jumps and a nice rhythm section, nothing too difficult.

Pipeline in fonthill... Of the weather is good enough

The weather looks good so far!
Pretty pumped for the first race of the year. Nice weather would be a bonus.
Nervous about getting off the line fast. Tried a few launches Sunday and the built motor is way different than stock down low, kept stalling.

I'm strapping a raft to my bike and hitting muskoka!

Is this just a spot that's out of the way and free to ride?
It's a good spot if you're into hill climbs. Not too much single track but there's some nice flowing ridge trails.
It's free and there's never been any issues with being in there so far. Parking is the tricky part but if you have blue plate you can park wherever you want.

Hope you guys had a chance to get out and enjoy the sun this weekend. I fell asleep between motos as I was rolling up my air mattress and got a little sun burnt lol (first full race weekend tired me out!)

We're in Centreton this weekend, good fairly technical sand track if anyone is up for it! Fast guys will be hitting our "Pro" section with one of our craziest jumps of all the tracks.

what's the deal with turkey point/st Williams? That's basically all I rode the past two years, aside from the mini pine enduro at ganny once

That is Muttco right? I might be joining you. I'm trying to pick between Grand Bend and Muttco.

What is the difference between Novice A and Novice B? I have only 4 moto's under my belt (all from last weekend) so I don't know which one that would place me (both?). Also, do you know how long the races generally are? Thanks, Mike.

Yep, Muttco this weekend.
It's a Sand track with a bit of a harder base about a foot down, so it will get choppy with some nice berms.

Novice classes will run the shortest configuration of the track. The start is nice and wide, turning to the right. I like to start further to the left to avoid the huge mess that happens with everyone going in for the 2 inside berms. Allows you to keep up the momentum, and if you stick to the left side of the track you miss most of the chop and it sets you up perfectly for a nice wide swooping entrance in to the next right hander.

There honestly isn't a huge difference in the A and B. The A guys are getting some speed. I was top 5 in Novice A last year, and my main competitor from last season is now riding Junior A. But, the top few in the Novice B are running mid pack Junior B times. Biggest thing in the Novice class is the over aggressive squids, but they usually end up eating it in the first 2 laps.

Races are about 10 minutes for Novice, but since it gets rougher through the day, it's long enough for most people.

Thanks again. I know they do a practice day the day before the race (so Saturday)... but do they allow for a practice session on race day. I'm figuring I can't make the practice day but I'd also like to at least get some familiarity with the track before racing.

8am we make sure everyone gets 3 laps before the race program starts... Not much time to get to know this track.
