where are all the end of season track bike deals??

I've updated my bike sale posting. Added bodywork, even more spares, Aim laptimer, stands, more. Enough Spares to wad it up and have a yard sale in turn 1. Literally. Price lowered to sell, if not Im gonna tune it and jack the price up in the spring.

It's not selling but I am sure as soon as you increase the price it will.

Nice sarcasm. Yeah, because dumping more money into a bike to make it even better means I should lose even more money. I'm already losing over 2k on this bike, if I'm storing until spring and making it even better, I'm not about to give the shirt off my back as well. Some people are just damn cheap....

It was a joke more than sarcasm, we have all been there in the frustrating situation when we know the value of what we are selling and how much we put on it but people are just not interested, sucks.

I realized that people are in most cases looking for a deal to start with (in our bracket of bikes) so I found I got a lot more money when I took out the really nice parts and put stock or something less valuable, then i sold the bike cheaper and got more money by selling the parts separate. It's a pain but in most cases didn't take long to get my investment back.

Good luck!

Dumping money into a bike doesn't mean you'll get that money back. If I only lost 2k on my bike I'd be skipping like a school girl all the way to the bank. Point me to the guy that's going to pay up the +$30k it takes to build a proper SBK because I'd love to meet him.

Your bike's a good deal as it sits. Don't put more money into and ask more because you'll price out the people looking for a 16yr old bike.

I agree, I'm not putting any more money into it other than to tune it and get the dyno print out.

I'm losing already, I'd rather not lose my shirt. I know its well priced because of the amount of interest I've received. It hasn't sold largely because the buyers interested in the lower than 3k price point don't want to spend any time setting the bike up, they wanted it more turn key and fool proof.

I also know its a good deal because you won't find a track bike on Kijiji for less than $3500 that has front and rear suspension AND engine work. I know, I checked.

That bike is now racing in a class with 2005-06 636 zx6's and 2nd gens R6's, so most guys looking to race in that class won't give your ad a second look.

As for track days guys, spending another $1g note will get them something a lot newer and much nicer looking.

You might be better off to part out the bike.

Most of us have lost our shirt selling a track/race bike, especially the older ones. It's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

like myself, yes people are cheap. this is why you hear experienced racers often say "buy a bike already set up for the track." it is a buyers market out there. your bike, while nicely prepped, is in between - slightly old for lost era, but too young for a vintage bike. the 98 cbr600f3 posted earlier is only 3 years older than your bike and is listed for $999. fox shock and upside down 929 front end, 20k kms, and a vintage legal near ringer (given no issues). heck, aftermarket race fairings alone would cost you the purchase price. If my employment contract wasn't ending in the spring i would have went to check it out. If I were you i would just keep your 600 and run it into the ground in lost era. Sounds like it could be a top 5 finisher. maybe better.

i've never made my money back on a bike (street) that i've done lots of work to.
you are selling a nice bike but its hard to justify this kind of money for a 16 year old bike, I spend an extra $1000 and got 7 years newer, full suspension (set up for my weight) motor work, quick shifter, brembo master, and a long list of goodies, from a buyers POV it doesn't make sense, you can probably get more than what you are asking if you sell the spares separate, and the bike cheaper, or like other have said part it out.

Never said I was gonna make money back. Hense, losing 2000 bucks. That said, I'll continue to find ways to make the bike more attractive to prospective buyers.

$1500 zx750 ohlins turn key ready - clean and looks to go quickly! SOAR vintage legal!

for the price of two race day schools with a bike...you could own this. Vintage racing would be a great place to cut your teeth and learn. heck, kellen would probally podium in lost era heavy with this. dang aliens.

or, split the cost with another experienced racer or two and go GTU endurance racing..
