When is too cold to ride your bike?

Everyone is different. +5 for me

I am for anything above plus 5, and i would prefer that with a clean surface! No rain!
Even still with plus 5, its usually not a long one.

Consistent temperatures above 0. I can go a bit colder but theres no point taking the risk of hitting black ice.

For me as long as it's above freezing and there's not a ton of salt on the roads.

Like others have said, after a good rain or two +5 or so is good for me (I was still riding in those temps during the fall). The big one for me is to get rid of the 2 million metric tons of salt per square inch Ontario seems to dump on the roads when they call for 1cm of snow.

0 dry

+5 kinda wet (flurry)

+10 stupid wet (storms)

I'd probably be able to do lower than 10 wet if I had proper rain gear. The one thing holding me back from lower than 0 is fingers. Wind guards, I've heard, help a lot...but they'd look stupid on a supersport.

+13 or greater for me. I'll ride when is colder if I have to but I don't enjoy it. My bike will stay in hibernation until the warm weather arrives.

It sort of like saying: How warm does the water need to be before you will go swimming? I might be possible to do a polar bear dip but I don't enjoy it.

When I'm really tired of winter, -2C is good enough for a few hours. I hate the cold, but cabin fever kicks in.
Temps like that require heated gloves and layering up like I'm going skiing.

+3-4ish, it was a bit painful in the fall despite having cold weather gloves this time around, but I've got heated liners now so I'm looking forward to trying them out once the weather is consistently above freezing in a week or two.

I need at least +10 C for me to actually enjoy a ride, and it has to be +12 ~ +15 in the morning for me to commute to work, but that's because my commute is 45 minutes of highway riding. I also have no heated gear, wear shorty gloves, and I have a naked bike.

Depends if I need to get somewhere of if I'm going for a joyride...

If I'm just going from point A to B, as long as the roads are dry, I can go -5 to -10. If the roads are wet (and not covered in snow/ice), anything above 1.

For actually going out and enjoying a ride, +5 would be good enough.

This is my only vehicle for transportation. I would have to take the bus otherwise and YRT sucks worse that TTC.

As soon as I see chicks wearing hooker heels, mini skirts and crop tops, I know it's good to ride.

Dunno about you, but I see these chicks throughout winter as well... Lol

when overnight temperatures are above 10C.
or when all the salt is (mostly) gone.

I've ridden in around -25C before, on my Ninja 250R back when I had it, and a few nights on my V-Strom. Not the most comfortable, and definitely have to dial it down quite a bit vs warm weather riding, but for some reason I still enjoy it. As long as there's no snow or ice around. :P
