When is a bike considered old and near mechanical problems?

Sport Rider did an article yrs ago about high mileage reader's bikes.

There were BMW airheads, K series bricks, Goldwings, and bikes like Honda Nighthawk S's, all with very high mileage....but the all out winner for mileage in their survey was from a Dr in Los Angeles who rode a 92 CBR900RR. After a couple stators, starters, and I think one waterpump, many trackdays, canyone miles, and his everyday commute (since he didn't own a car) , his bike was rough looking but still ran great. Never had the motor opened at all, and it had over 325,000 MILES!! over half a million kms folks!!

How about this: 2000 GSXR750!! Stock. 3 stators. secondary throttle valve actuator done a few times. Motul synth regular oil changes. 4 valave checks, and only needed adjusment twice so far. He is still riding it!
