What's your hurry?

OK so you see a car coming up behind and it's hundreds of meters back but you are cruising the passing lane with nothing to your left (or left of your left on a three lane) but you sit there until that car is right behind you, has slowed to your speed, then you move over...

WTF is wrong with you exactly?

Also, why can't people move over on a curve (and I mean a huge gradual one) when there is nothing even remotly close to them in the center or right lane? Even people driving M class and other cars that could handle this amazingly complex manouver reserved for elite International class race drivers.....

WTF is wrong with them?

In both cases these people do move eventually so they aren't ignorant of the law. Keep right except to pass.

Brake happy drivers drive me insane.

Brake happy drivers drive me insane.

Me too, I try to get around them as soon as I can. It's funny too that these break happy drivers usually don't even have anyone near them. lol

Bad drivers in general get me ******. I just try to keep calm, cause I can't change them and just avoid them by changing lanes and going around them.

had one today that i haven't seen in a year or two--driving up warden past eglinton, pull in behind a woman in her lexus in the left lane, at a stop light. light changes to green, she creeps ahead and then slams on the brakes, and on goes her left turn signal. . .all fine and well, except she's blocking through traffic and is totally oblivious to the full, dedicated left turn lane that sits empty next to her. . .honk the horn. . .nothing. lean on the horn. . .nothing.

oblivious.

THAT was frustrating.

edit: i take that back. . .this happened to me just this past winter, coming out of the pickering town centre, except i was in the left turn lane and the soccer mom in the escalade next to me (on the right) tried to turn left by completely cutting me off in the middle of the intersection. lol, unfortunately she failed to notice the police cruiser sitting on the other side of the intersection who immediately lit his cherries and pulled her over. . .

^^^^^^ I hate that tooooooooo!!!! Jerk faces!!!!!

You would rely on a turn signal to tell you it's safe to pull out into traffic?

Turns signals can lie. Until I see that car visibly slowing AND turning, the turn signal's only value is to provide a hint of what may be, and not necessarily what is.

Sometimes you wait when you don't have to, in order to be courteous to the person crossing through. Then you notice them slowing but it's too late to turn ahead of them. Then they turn. It is impatient, but it is also frustrating. Turn signals should go on before the brakes.

You see the signal, you see the vehicle slowing. Then you can judge whether it is safe to go or wait.

New to riding not driving hun. If someone is coming at a distance and is about to turn and can see someone else would like to turn they should have there signal on so that other person can turn. If the signal is on and they are slowing down then you can turn safely. Coming to the turn with out the signal on leaves the other person guessing and waiting... not cool.

If the approaching vehicle is far off enough in the distance, it really doesn't matter if they are turning or not. You'll probably have time and space enough to make your turn before they ever arrive. It's the close-proximity turners that are at issue.

People change their minds about completing a turn, sometimes even after starting to turn in. Then there are those people who deliberately try to suck others into crashes in order to get the insurance payoff. Not really that many of the latter, but the former is a common fact of city life.

In a car or truck with seat-belts, airbags and lots of metal around you, you can take the chance and not be too worse for wear if things go south. On a bike with none of those things, things tend to hurt more when things go south. In the long run, cautious and defensive riding trumps a few seconds saved by rolling the dice.

Bottom line people need to be less selfish on the road and start driving and riding like they are not the only ones out there.

Oh, you want the east coast experience then. Hugs and kisses and people stopping in the middle of the road just to chit chat and catch up?

Never, never, ever turn based upon someone having their signal on. There are many, many people out there who leave the signal on for some reason and cannot see or hear it to turn it off. Motorcycles are especially notorious for this since most do not have auto cancelling signals.

Um, ok. Like I said before, I turn when I see the signal and the vehicle is slowing down and there is a safe distance. Not understanding why you two are preaching this to me. I'm aware of my surroundings and what is going on and drive very safely.

I've been hit before while standing on the side walk and I don't care to feel that again or cause anyone else to feel like that, that is why I drive the way I do.

I also said I drive/ride like people are going to do stupid **** so I'm not sure why your repeating to me to never never never turn based on a turn signal.

What the douce.

Ya really, what's the point of holding someone else up? If someone wants to go faster than me, I make it as easy as possible for them to pass me. Once they start the pass I will take my foot off the gas and let them past. However, it has happened twice this year where someone (both times they were women) wants to go faster.... they catch up to me like I'm stopped despite doing 10 over or so and then they WON'T PASS. GEEZ lady.... the COAST IS CLEAR!!!! GO!!!!!! Finally I'll just end up putting on my turn signal and pulling over. I don't want someone who is tailgating, anywhere near me. I try to make things as SIMPLE as possible. You want to go faster, GO!

On the same token, WTF is wrong with the dudes that try to speed up when you go for a pass? They're going 10 below, you try to pass them you look down at the speedo and you are doing 40 over and barely getting anywhere. Seriously dude.... obviously you drive that Lincoln Compensator :D for a reason! I didn't just finish killing your first born ya know? I just simply want to go at the speed I am comfortable with, but 10 below in a nice 80 zone isn't it.

Then.... there are the side by side slow tandem racers going below the limit .... you know the ones... when you actually have more than one lane and the one car will start inching in front and you think... nice nice nice... go go go .... then they will slow down and the other car will start gaining ground and you are like "ok bro make it count".... :D but then the first guy decides to speed up just a touch more and now he's going faster again.... before you know it, 3 kilometers later and they're still SIDE BY SIDE!!!!! Holly jump'n.... why do you want to trust someone else's driving ability to the point where you stay side by side for such a long period of time?

Get it lots when I'm in the truck pulling the trailer. Go to pass someone and they are ok until they see I'm pulling a trailer. They then decide I'll be slowing them down and try to race me so I dot get in front. Always a laugh when your car can't outpace my truck with a fully loaded race trailer.

I have become more tolerant of people who don't drive fast. I wish people would move over if they are not going to pass anyone though. My pet peeve about not going is at intersections with an advanced green (or arrow). When the green arrow is on it mean go, it isn't getting any ****ing greener for you. Three cars on a green is rediculous.

Na, bottom line, you are still a ****** if you don't singnal your turn.

You're also a dink if you leave the goddamn signal on after the turn haha. I hate both and everything equally.
