What's your favorite gas station?

Shell is great for gas. But annoying that it authorizes $125 for any amount of gas on prepay. I wish I could tell it to do a max of $20. Gassing up a few times per day can use quite a chunk of my credit for a week.

Petro canada at runnymede and st clair is usually one of the cheaper ones in toronto. Also close enough to my crib

I don't always buy gasoline, but when i do, I prefer Canadian Tire.

Bike: Shell V-Power
Car: Who ever selling the cheapest 87 octane lol

The BP down the road that always has BP race fuel in stock... hang on wrong country.

The gas station on the corner of bloomington and 48, always seems cheaper then any others I pass.

Shell for bikes and car, which all take premium. No ethanol in the 91, right up the street, collect cashback and airmiles.

You can enter in how much you want to authorize when paying at the pump. "Do you want a fill up?" Select no and enter the exact amount.

So if I enter $20 and fill up $11 worth, it'll hold the $20 for a week and bill $11?

My favourite ones are the ones without Ethanol, Shell 91 and Ultramar 91. And don't forget that Ultramar has 91 deal thursdays, $0.9c off per liter, almost the same price as regular! WOOT!

that's not correct, it's not 10%+. it's UP TO 10% ethanol

Sorry, that was a brain fart. That's what I meant.

Btw, does anyone know who supplies the gas for the 401 OnRoute Canadian Tire stations? I was filling up at one today and noticed only 87 and 89 had the "Up to 10% ethanol" sticker on them. Nothing on the 91.

any station that sells 94 octane. more octane = more power. it's a proven fact.
Ummm, no? lol. Ethanol contains less energy potential than gasoline and no 94 is ethanol free, so right off the bat ANY 94 octane fuel will have less power than Shell 91 or Ultramar 91.

I always use Shell V-Power for my bike and V-Power diesel for my car. I also collect air mile points. so it's great for me

You're right that octane rating itself is not a measure of performance or power but it will be most resistant to engine knock. If your ECU is able to detect this and take advantage of the high octane fuel, it can advance the timing to effectively increase compression and torque. Again, it's all dependant on the ECU mapping. Some may detect it, some may not, and some may take many many fill-ups before it switches maps. Is the power increase worth it? Probably not unless you're on the track. Fuel with higher ethanol concentration is also quite hard on the fuel system and will require more of it to be burned to produce more power than ethanol free fuel.

I don't know of any stock motorcycle ECU that does this.

Neither do I personally which is why my earlier reply said "if". The replies to this thread and talk around octane rating doesn't seemed to be restricted to just motorcycles either so that is why my response was in more general terms.

Here we go another fuel war thread of 94octane vs no ethanol people, does not matter on what forum this goes on, its atleast a 5 pages argument everytime.
