What's the worst bike you've ever owned and why?

I'll do this a different way. I haven't hated any bike I've owned so I will list the ones with small dislikes.

86 VFR750 Rotten stock suspension (but it never failed me)
92 GSXR1100 Footpegs too high, knee cramps. Too buzzy.
92 FZR1000 Pushed the front end with the wrong tire at full lean, weak clutch basket.
97 YZF750R Handling sucked at anything less than full race charge (but then was great), bottom end and midrange sucked.
06 Vstrom 1000 Liked the bike, don't like the look.
99 TL1000R too much engine heat through the frame at your inner thigh.
03 Volusia 800 Not enough power for me on the highway or with a passenger.

1979 XS650

-Stock charging system went out on my way back from Kingston $$$$$$
-Ignition needed replacing $$$$$$
-Got fed up and bought a new wiring harness $$$$$$
-Carbs where complete garbage, not bikes fault PO was terrible, bought ex500 carbs $$$$$$$
-And of course it's an older parallel twin so it vibrates if everything isn't peerrrrrrfect

but of course there are those days where the bike is wonderful and the bike is extremely well behaved and I pat her on the tank with a smile on my face. I get stopped all the time by guys asking me about the bike and telling me about their XS back in the day.

My first bike, a 1984 Yamaha 400. It was black, had a ghost tiger head painted on the tank, rarely worked, spent more time in the shop then on the road. While it was cool to have a bike at 16, it was very frustrating to have a bike that you never knew if it would start up or not

Was it burgundy? Could be the one I sold off to a second hand dealer because it just stopped running altogether :)

It was burgundy. I think they came in 2 colours, burgundy and blue. If this was your old bike, screw you buddy!

Not even a smiley face?

83 Honda CB1100F
Died on its maiden voyage, during assembly someone forgot to plug in a few connectors
Then there were a few design issues mostly from Honda's decision to take a 750 and bore and stroke it to 900 then 1100 which left it with a weak clutch, gearbox and bottom end
Flimsy back ordered comstar wheels, 2 years and 2 motorcycles later honda finally had stock on the wheels lol
Awful suspension even for the time combined with a flexing chassis combined to make a motorcycle that was very prone to crazy high speed weave with just a little tire wear
Worse bike by far that Ive ever owned

Honda VTR1000. Honda's ain't got no soul.

I can't agree with a blanket statement like this but I would agree the VTR1000 is one boring motorcycle to ride.

Ill be the one to say the 'h' word. My first bike and secons season coming up...hyosung gt250r ... ohh and i effffin luv it

My first ever all inclusive was to a 3* in cuba. I thought it was sweet at the time too

Weestrom. Dealership or Suzuki put the clutch together wrong. Took months and months to get the part, and then an Independent shop did the same thing. Was it a typo in the manual? Idk because the dealer stole mine and then went belly up. They did have the best price though.

That's kind of surprising to hear. I've never ridden one, but I briefly considered picking one up last month. The reviews I read said its great for in town, great for the back roads, and, "you’d be hard pushed not to have a ball on it".

Don't think for a second it's a bad bike, it isn't. It's just that my ride on one was stepping off my TL1000S that was modded internally to well north of 125 rwhp. In that era pretty much anything was boring compared to that weapon. The throttle was more accurately a front wheel elevation control on that TL in the first 3 gears.

The only downside to the VTR was that while it did everything well it was very bland. A budget suspension that complained at anything approaching aggressive riding and a very linear powerband that signed off very early, with even worse fuel economy than the Suzuki, which wasn't good.

is the VTR a great bike to buy? Yes, if it's a deal. Especially with sport touring classification in insurance. It will wheelie all day and be moderately comfortable. It's just that it's not an exciting bike for the demographic that is in the market for a bike of this type.

My two previous Harley's. Something major always broke each season.

Also, my '69 Triumph Tiger..... where do I start on that POS... the worse was when it blew a hole in the top of the piston returning from a camping trip in Bancroft. Rebuilt it and sold it cheap to my Bud who beat the crap out of it and never had any problems.

The details on why seem a little sparse.
I'd rather not say too much since the person that bought it may be on here. Though I told them all the things that had been replaced. Just rather not go into how bad it actually was.

first time I read that I thought it said your first all inclusive three way was in Cuba. I thought that's a odd thing to post , but OK. Then on the re read I got it. I still like Cuba. But a 3* in Cuba is Motel 6- in Windsor , with free breakfast but no ketchup. Ever.

I had a Hyosung. I've ridden some worse bikes. Only major things were the stock suspension was pretty terrible, and the headlights sucked. Had to ride holding the pass button so both high and low beams were on or you couldn't see ****.

Did 20K on it in one season at pretty much redline and it never left me stranded. Catalytic converter started to rattle so they replaced it under warranty.

Both of my Suzuki's were less reliable than the Hyosung, but I would still consider them better bikes.
