until Gamblers Anonymous starts advertising on TV?
Between banning smoke ads , making me fund MADD Canada , now legalizing all the pot shops , I’m very torn as to which vice to subscribe to.

I can get away from it. We've never had conventional tv with commercials. Obviously that means we cant often watch live sports but also means I get to avoid learning about mystery drugs and parlay betting.According to my TV, it's either sports betting, online casinos, or running to your doctor to see if this week's new mystery drug with the fancy nonsensical name is right for you.
Even the sports news shows all have a segment on parlay betting with some self proclaimed expert (or not) panelist. You can't get away from it.

Knowing about gambling is a useful life skill (especially if you can learn a relatively cheap lesson about when it doesnt go your way). When people pretend something doesnt exist, that makes this worse imo. As for gambling ads, I doubt it matters much. Gamblers would have gambled anyway, that just redistributes the money they are losing. My youngest watches YT basketball videos. He's 11.
Almost half are sponsored by online betting sites.
That being said, I'm no better an example.
I had him do my Proline March Madness bracket picks.
And let him play his own.
I lost.
He won $75

It’s a way of collecting tax on gambling , and much of the funds go back into the community, like trillium grants and tbe OJC grants , casino money is huge . I like it . I don’t play , but I see the end results on grants ect. , it’s awesome
