Bond to happen at the start and end of a season, inexperienced or overconfidence. Pick your poison.
Thought the same myself. What are the stats like, is this number a common occurrence? Or is this season worse than others in the past? Ride safe everyone.
Lots of chatter on the police radio last night about bikes traveling at high rates of speed along the Gardiner and Lakeshore.
I woke up around 1am hearing several sportbikes going up the 427. I could tell by the tone of the loud exhausts that they were pinned. I was thinking, "damn, those guys are going fast. Must be running away from the cops." (half asleep)
Yep.. saw a bunch of idiots on sportbikes racing down the QEW towards mississauga last night around 10pm way above the speed limits. To those of you morons who were part of that, grow the hell up, you make all of us riders look bad, no wonder cagers hate bikers.
seems like the crowd for motorcycles is getting younger as well... just saying..
over the years the forum has become much larger, as a result we have the accidents section, as well as people posting every damn accident in there. it seems liek there are so many more accidents than other years largely because of the increased exposure to each accident.
Notice everyone dieing are on 600CC+ bikes? I say we adopt the UK/Euro system of graduated license for motorcycles. We are filling up the morgues quick.
larger because there are more riders... hence the frequency of accidents probably increased. Don't be so flippant about it.
I live right by 427 just before it meets up with 401. I heard them too, can't help but smile every time but god damn these boys were FLYING last night!
This is a nightly occurence at this location all summer long.
Thats what i was thinking, more riders more accidents. Why are there more riders, ummm cost me a buck in gas to get work instead of 10 bucks in a car. and parking is free!
I just did some quick figuring. Assuming 200 motorcycle fatalities a year in Canada and assuming a six month riding season in Ontario and assuming equal distribution of riders by population across the country, you can expect one fatality a week in the GTA and 4 per week in Ontario.
Wish we could use police scanners for the Durham policeLots of chatter on the police radio last night about bikes traveling at high rates of speed along the Gardiner and Lakeshore.
