What's for dinner?

Another fresh garden Caprese salad here, this time with some fresh sourdough bread, butter pads and a dash of salt.

And another killer burger here. Half pound custom butcher beef burger from the grill with romaine lettuce, pickles, diced garden onion, double american cheese, mustard, Melinda's Habanero ketchup and mayonnaise on a toasted kaiser bun.

Instant pot roasted cherry tomato soup made with three varieties of fresh garden cherry tomatoes (including sun sugar), fresh hand grated Grana Padano cheese and fresh garden basil. Amazing soup.

Cheers and have a great weekend.

I was able to use fresh garden ingredients quite late into this fall this year. Highly recommended.
Still have some onions.
Last of the tomatoes will disappear tomorrow.

Nice @Joe Bass. My garden tomatoes ended last weekend but I still have some food pictures with them to post. I still have lots of onions and other garden stuff.

On to more good food and pictures. I started having and enjoying Caesar salad again.

Another half pound custom butcher beef burger, this one from the Weber Summit grill with romaine lettuce, pickles, sliced garden tomatoes, diced garden onion, double american cheese, mustard and Melinda's Habanero ketchup on a toasted kaiser bun.

Fried Green tomatoes. It's an excellent dish, easy to make and new to me (made and ate it for the first time ever). I used late season garden tomatoes picked before the first big frost. Some had ripened as can be seen in the picture but were still reasonably acidic for this cook.

Cheers and enjoy the weekend.

ktox needs to have me over for dinner.

I'll bring the beer.

LOL, thx! Here's the goods again, I've started enjoying the earlier bulk buy of pork back ribs. Two racks here were done low and slow on the Weber Summit grill (~4 hrs).

Char Siu style pork back ribs; they're amazing and highly recommended. Big pictures with lots of detail.

Lemon herb pepper for the second rack of pork back ribs! With lots of fresh squeezed lemon juice. Highly recommended again.

Here's a picture of the ribs plated and ready to eat! Toasted garlic and basil bread was served as the side.

Went to Prince Edward County this weekend for a day trip out. Bought plenty of craft beer and also stopped at the highline mushroom farm for the freshest (and cheapest) fungi you can get short of picking them yourself. Bought three big bags of shiitake, oyster and cremini and made a vegan mushroom lasagna today with homemade tomato sauce and a “cheese” sauce made from cashews, nutritional yeast, cherry toms, garlic salt and pepper. The thing was delicious. Seriously and I’m not a vegan.

I’ll use the same sauce next time when I try a moussaka.

I've worked in the catering business as a student years ago, did a bit of everything, waiting tables, dishwashing even a bit of cooking. It's one thing cooking for a few people at home, cooking for a whole bunch to order is a totally different kettle of fish. I'd love to run a restaurant BUT I know I couldn't hack it over time. It's tough.

Running a bar? I'd do that!

I’m in Belleville every weekend, needs a roti shop!!

it's starting to become a little more diverse
couple of authentic Indian restaurants now

and a genuine Mexican place on the main drag
just north of JC's French place

a Caribbean place would be great

My wife looked up the french place. On for $128K with everything but the pastry equipment on the High St. Seems quite a deal. Wonder what went wrong? Their chef is/was absolutely top notch. Best ingredients, fresh etc. Used to travel from K town just to go there as it is that good.

The Instant Pot is one of my main cooking appliances and it will be on sale again with Black Friday coming. The Instant Pot is already on sale at Amazon.ca too.

This large 8 qt model is on sale for $85, regular price is $160.

Unless you have a large family I'd recommend waiting for a 6 qt model to go on sale.

More great meal pictures.

Instant Pot tomato risotto and Mediterranean grilled octopus. This meal is easy, fast and very tasty. The tomato risotto included arborio rice, butter, heirloom tomatoes, garden onion, salt, pepper, white wine, lots of fresh hand grated grana padano cheese and some butter pads (when plating). The octopus was grilled on the Weber Summit with olive oil and lots of fresh squeezed lemon juice. Big pictures with lots of resolution. Highly recommended.

Here is one wannabe cook (me!) that has started out with a breadmaker and my first attempt was awful, I used 2 cups of oil (olive oil, no less!) instead of two tbl spoons ("tbl" got me confused!) and the result was a gooey mess. Second attempt on the way now.
I have a long way to go before catching up with all you talented folks :)

"four wheels good, two wheels better"

Instant Pot 6 Cheese Lasagna. Made with custom butcher coarse single grind beef and pork mix (both with ~ 25% fat content), diced sweated down small garden onion, ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, queso quesadilla, monterey jack and hand grated grana padano... plus a bunch of seasonings. This cook went excellently. It's a double decker setup. Very rich, very flavorful, very dense, very tasty. Big pictures with lots of resolution.

KW that octopus and risotto look delish!
So does the lasagna, but all that cheese would wreak havoc on my insides.

@Chris-CJ glad I'm not the only one that butchers meals! Lol

Would live to see a pic of what those 2 cups of olive oil turned into!
