I use Rotella T6, because it's not designed for motorcycles (it does have the JASO-MA rated so it's safe to use with wet clutches and motorcycles in general) it's not as expensive as motul or amsoil, and works extremely well. Also nice that is is available at walmart, which runs much more liberal hours than CT, and is usually cheaper as well

but i only see rotella t6 15-40 never 10-40 not that there is gling to be much difference 10-15.. but i just never noticed it. is it just me or is that the case

The Rotella T6 is a 5W-40. It's rated as a synthetic (Group III+) and has the JASO-MA designation. The Rotella T5 is a 0W-40 and is a synthetic (Group IV), but doesn't have the JASO-MA rating. The 15W-40 you're looking at, is not synthetic - but lots of people use it in their bikes and are very happy with it's performance and price.

I have always used Honda's oil change in a box. It's $40 and has the oil/filter/washer/funnel. Is it worth it to play around with other options? Not in my opinion.

If you're unsure of the suitability of other options and you're more comfortable with purchasing something that's marketed directly to what you perceive your needs to be, then go for it.
Some people like to research stuff, in an effort to get past all the "marketing" hoopla and find a product that does the job as well, or better and maybe save some money, in the process.

There's a T5? Who knew? Comparing the T6 with Amsoil, I love the Amsoil general purpose oil. There is better clutch engangement & better high temp stability
