What's a good/cheap unlimited internet option?

Create community wifi co-ops, split the cost.
hell, buy some basic decent routers ($30) and turn them into repeaters
neighbor to the left and right of you
$100/3 = savings:D

Do you really want to deal with the phone call in the middle of the night that the internet has gone down and needs to be reset? You are basically becoming a reseller at that point, I personally don't want the hassle.
 
Considering all the money I'm not spending on entertainment (thank you torrents) I'm happy to blow $50/mo on internet. I don't pay for cable, or a home phone.. so that's money saved.

I find 25mbit serves me very well. Most 1080p rips are downloaded in an hour. I can wait, since I schedule my downloads overnight anyway. Not sure I'd really reap the benefits of a 100mbit (or whatever) connection.

Tomato or DDWRT can be set to autoreboot router weekly if you want
Tell them don't call after x time
If it's down after they reboot then it's likely a problem in the area, can wait until tmrw.

See, part of the problem is must have now or I will die...

it's just an idea for some ppl
