What to do with OLD HELMET ?

Hey everyone,

I just recently got myself a new helmet....and now, what to do with that expired 8+years old helmet?

Any suggestions please?
 
I keep all mine. Got a long shelf in the basement with them on. Makes for both conversation and good memories of each.
 
A friend of mine sends old but usable helmets over to Malaysia. Tons of people on mopeds and scooters but many can't even afford helmets.

I'll fire him a text to see if he's still doing it. Let me know if you're interested.
 
Ask your local fire station if they are interested in used helmets.

Exactly. I only have one other helmet but I'm planning to do the same.

OP - As your "collection" grows you'll be able to look back on the evolution of your helmets. On another forum I belong to a member there has pretty much every helmet he has every had in a glass enclosed shelf in his basement. Very cool display!

Saw your post..... I sent it to a friend as shes been thinking of getting her license. :) What did you upgrade to?

took a few of my old ones to the local fire station where they use them for training newbs on how to deal with helmet wearing victims and how to properly take them off etc....

like the malay idea too...

...eh, just ninja 250...cant go for anything bigger, im small size, feet has to touch the ground!

anyhow, thank you everyone for the tips, just saw kijiji ad, 'will pick up used helmets anywhere in gta for free", DONE.
 
first cut off the d-rings, then contact your local fire/EMS/Paramedic station. chances are they will be very interested in having them for training purposes.

or,

cut off d-rings, then mount them on a wall/shelf etc. (thats what i've done)
