What product do you always go back to? Or change out every time?

They look quite similar to my Shure SE215 except those are over-ears, but I have the same earplug tips. Probably the same result in the end.
What are these ones specifically?

Etymotic ER-6i.

Legendary in its time.

When they were discontinued, I bought like 5 pairs. Lasted me quite a few years, but alas, the last one gave out a while ago and now I'm sad.

What was special about them, sound quality? Fit?

Have you tried the SE215's? I wear them 100% of the time while riding and with those same tips as your photo they work perfect as both earplugs, but as audio sources.

I have a whole drawer of earphones and earplugs that we've tried, including the SE215s. For some people, the over the ear wires hurt the backs of the ears over an extended ride.

The best thing about the ER-6is was the short barrel. For smaller ears, they don't stick out as much, and the helmet doesn't push the earphone into the ear canal. Also Etymotic makes in-ear monitors for musicians and their earphones are well-known for their bass response and sound clarity, not that matters much at speeds over 120+km/h...

Everyone is built differently, so some brands and models fit some better than others. My wife has particularly small ears and to this day, she's tried molded earphones, foamies, the SE215 was hers, loop earplugs, etc. None were as good as the ER-6is for her.

I'm currently using the Etymotic ETY-KIDS (for smaller ears). Still a long barrel, but my ears are larger and they are fine for me.

Gotcha.

It sucks when you find something you really like and then it gets discontinued. Story of my life at Costco it seems lol.

Shoei helmets because it’s the only brand fits my square head, have whole bunch of ohter brands but in the end only Shoei get the riding time..

Alpinestars for jackets as it seems the only brand made for slim bodies, every other brand nowadays seem twice wider in gut area than in chest..

Michelin tires - tested many brands in the beginning and found it’s the best for me on the street so stuck with what works - easy life with no need to think too much every time.

Ikea is the worst.

Every year they change the styling of most of their sundry products, hangers, plates, etc.

Bought a set of white plastic coat hangers at Ikea a few years ago.

Went back and they still have white plastic coat hangers, but shaped differently so if you're anal and want everything matchy-matchy in your closet, you have to buy all new hangers.

Not a big deal for something as insignificant as hangers.

But if you buy a set of dishes with a design on it, and then you break a couple of them and go back the next year. Surprise... all new designs.

First world problems! 🤷‍♂️

North American sizing!

I'm slim-ish (although after Xmas, I'm starting to build up quite the skinny-guy potbelly)...

Anyway, Dainese and Rev'It! also tend to have slimmer fit jackets. I like jackets with numbered sizing, but they're becoming rarer and rarer these days. Most vendors seem to only be offering lettered sizing: XS, S, M, XL, XXL, XXXL, XXXXXXXXL, etc.

And when they do carry the S/M sizes, they run out of them super-fast. I called a store about some size 40/41 boots which always seem to be out-of-stock. They said they are always out-of-stock because they never order them in.

Heard someone in the background shout out, "What is he, an ELF?!?"

Yeah, it's a double edged sword with Ikea. If you only go every 6 months, you're going to find new stuff vs the same stuff for years and years. We went yesterday actually on the way back home from the motorcycle show and even after not being there for only 3-4 months we saw some new stuff.

But yes, funny you mention the dishes - we have the last-generation set from there in the deep blue colour. Now discontinued. A few pieces have got broken over the years, but my wife scored about 3/4 of another matching set at Value Village about 6 months ago so we're all replenished for a few more years at least.

We picked up a butt-ton more of the snap-lid food storage containers yesterday - we picked up few of them when we were there last and really like them, so today the tupperware cabinet got purged of all the old **** to make room for all the new ones we bought yesterday.

I don't really have anything specific that I MUST stick to.

I do drink the Rotella Cool-Aid.

I am on my first pair of Daytona boots, I don't know if I will ever wear them out but if I do, I will make sure to get another.

I am a fan of Rev'it gear as it fits me well and I like the styling. I have also picked up some Klim gear recently, pants and a jacket. I'm sure I will stick with that for a while.

I like my Shoei helmet, but I am willing to change to a different style. HOWEVER, an inner visor is a must on the next helmet. Just like CC is a MUST on any future bike I own.

Outside of motorcycle, I am a bit of a tool hoarder. I do have my favourite brands but I do like to dabble in others if they have the better tool for the job. I don't think any one specific brand is best at everything.
