WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE (alcoholic) DRINK?

Half and half Bacardi Oakheart and diet coke/coke zero. My favourite whisky to have straight is Weisers small batch, favourite vodka is Sobieski and I also second Crabby's ginger beer.

Rum and anything, or just rum, unless you don't have rum then anything from a microbrewery. No? Ok Scotch or Irish whiskey or American whiskey, fine I'll drink the vodka if you cant find the keys to the wine cellar.

This is refreshing. Usually peeps use these kinds of threads to showcase their exquisite taste but the buckshot approach works just as good.

Moonshine.. Don't like the mass-produced crap. My favourite is Sljivovica and in my dad's hometown, if you gotta fruit tree, you gotta still

Plus 1!! I been hooked for years since a Serbian wedding I went to.
Just wish I new someone who made it. Nothing like it.

Yeah, the store-bought stuff is crap plus watered down to 80-proof. I will be going to my dad's hometown soon, so I should bring enough for personal use. Looks like they opened a Rakia Bar franchise in Toronto http://www.rakiabar.com/rakia-bar-toronto/home.84.html Never been there, but the Belgrade location had some really good stuff (and some really bad stuff but I was experimenting with some exotic varieties lol). Your typical urban bar is only gonna have crap on hand, but these guys had a couple of very good quality batches. I'm not sure if they can import the typical small-scale runs, especially at full strength, though.

Great I'll check it out.
Is it legal or easy to import bottles?

Legal yes, but there is a charge.. I think it's at least $20 per liter but it's been almost 20 years since the last time I did it and I was underage at the time so they could have by rights just confiscated the booze lol

Edit: Used http://www.canadiandutycalculator.ca/index.php with a declared value of $10 as I get it for free lol and it was calculated to $15.38 per liter. Closer to $9 if you declare a nominal value of $1 per liter. I get it for free from moonshiners, so it's not too bad. I will probably chuck out some of my luggage and bring like 6-8l lol

Gin & Tonic with Lime wedge and a sprits of lime juice or whiskey neat.

Yeah, but what kind??

Tanquerey No. 10 is the shizzzzz. It's a little bit pricier, but a good buy at the Duty Free. Tanquerey Rangpur coming second... followed by everything else, way off the mark to these I find. I like em limey, though.. sounds like you do too.

Well let me know if you ever want to let a bottle go. Can't stand the lcbo garbage. Been a long time since I've had a good smooth bottle.

Yeah, you should try G'vine if you're willing to drop around $60, there are ones like Bols which taste way off the current gins but are like old timey proper taste for the original martinis. Yeah Tanqueray no.10 is good for its price. I've tried Gordon's, Beef Eater London, Brokers and a few other empties on my shelf aren't as good but not much difference in taste and price. This is making me want to have a couple drinks. lol

anything GIN,,, that is panty remover right there... or .... strip and go naked....... or long island ice tea without the coke...

ok,, strip and go naked recipe
Easy way to measure... 1can beer, 1can vodka, 1can frozen lemonade, 1can water... then you can double, triple, whatever. Add ice and YUMMY!! Making this for our May 24.. July 1 drinks..
sooo,, open the frozen lemonade.. dump it in a picnic cooler.... then use that can to measure with..

drink it quick and keep the cooler close so the gals have something to throw up in. ......... I tease..... sort of. So glad my days of winning a ribbon for drunkest guy at 2pm on a long weekend are over.

I'm a huge fan of local origin boozing when travelling, we had some interesting plonk during our central Europe trip 3yrs ago. In Serbia and Croatia we had a rajika? (sp?) , it was a brandy distilled drink and our hosts often carted out a "special" bottle they made in the kitchen. Is it a national pride thing like the Brits with gin and Danes with Aquavit, because some of it was like Sunoco 97. Don't get me wrong, I'll drink anything if the company is right, but keeping a polite smile was hard. So was sitting in a chair after toast #6.
