What is good two-up tourer these days ?

I am downsizing soon so giving some serious thought to unloading my Gold Wing in favour of a less bulky two up tour bike so wondering what models are recommended these days ?

Here are my constraints:

- no more than five years old and with reasonable mileage.
- displacement from 1000 cc upward.
- nothing from Europe please.
- reasonable size and weight so I am able to move it into a tighter area in my new garage with some ease.
- a model with a good reliability record and straight forward access for routine maintenance ie: oil changes.
- not looking to do marathon runs but something that is comfortable for two up riding of up to 300km/day.
- a center stand is a must.
- of course wanting good value for the money.
- not considered a high insurance risk.

thanks

v strom 1000?

why not a ridiculously overpowered Italian bike loaded down with whiz-bang electronics?

The best value you have is the bike you currently own.

I would have said a Wee, since it can carry more crap than many other bikes.

Not sure what Gary thinks the problem is with the Vee vs the FJR.

Kawi Concours…..I can’t remember when Honda’s ST stopped being offered but, pretty sure it’s over 5 years ago.

Otherwise, the FJR is the ticket.

I met a couple out on a Kawi and they really enjoyed it.

I'd second the concurs. Comfortable, tons of power and traveling space for 2.

Versys 1000 is a great two up bike has lots of power and torque and comes with a centre stand

wings are big, but the concourse/fjr arent exactly lightweight either

How tall are you? Some of the nicer 2up tourers need longer legs.
