What exhaust should i get for my R3

Bike makers have engineers on staff who do computations and other things to determine what the stock exhaust should be.
There is rarely any reason to change what came with the bike.
Different exhausts can make small changes to performance and power output, but also decrease gas mileage.
If you're running around a track for an afternoon, mileage doesn't matter much.
If you're touring, it does.

those engineers aren't looking to make the best sounding or performing exhaust. All they're looking to do is make sure it complies with environmental regulations across the globe and perform decently i.e give good gas mileage. There are lots of reasons to change a stock exhaust beginning with looks and weight savings...

If you want we can meet up somewhere in GTA once the weather gets nice and you can see how Coffman sounds on a R3, this should give you basic idea for slip ons.
Unless you're in a rush to order, or you're looking for full exhaust.

I'd only change it if the stock can burns your leg or pants, or if the stock can is massively heavy compared to an aftermarket one. A CF slip on solved my burned leg problems on a Kawasaki Z750S. Yes it did sound good but the stock was fine.

The M4 exhaust doesn't sound too bad either.

Here's the deal with a parallel twin. If you think an inline 4 is the sound you want you will always be disappointed so you need to lose that idea right now.

The mission with parallel twins is to make them sound "bigger" then they are.

That sounds like a great idea. I'm not picking up the R3 till the spring anyway, I'm mainly looking for sound anyway so I would love to hear it. Keep in touch, thank you!

If you're just looking for the sound (which everyone knows 300cc and under riders...hell most riders are looking for) check out some R3 specific forums. I'm sure riders have drilled out the exhaust baffles as a cheap DIY as opposed to the several hundred dollars a slip on will cost you.

Joey, thanks for your comment on the other thread too. I looked up some online (found ninja 300), and it made a hell of a difference by just drilling some round holes into the end of it. May be a good alternative.

It will save you a boat load of money. It won't have the bling factor of a shiny Yosh but they you can spend that coin on track days.
