Just curious what kind of bike everyone is riding. Supersport / cruiser / chopper / touring / adventure / Scooter etc. Why did you pick that bike and if you could would you do it again?

I'm riding a 2006 Ducati Monster S2R 800. I wanted something suitable for commuting in Toronto, and that meant power, handling, and a semi upright seating position.

also it looks cool as f%#!

I'm riding a 2012 BMW S1000RR. I test rode a number of bikes and found that this gave me the most confidence and so far it is among the fastest bike in productions. I use it to commute maybe once a week, other times I drive.

Kawasaki Ninja 300.

It's my first bike. I chose a Ninja 300 because I want to participate in track days. Eventually I'd like to progress to track riding a 600 SS. The Ninja 300 torque output is more similar to the 600cc SS's, with it producing it's torque over 8K RPM (while a CBR500 is all torque below 8K).

Ninja 300 also has a couple nice features for new riders: ABS (option), slipper clutch, positive neutral finder.

The bike is perfect for what I want to do with it. It has the basic technology I wanted. It has the handling and performance I wanted.

I'd absolutely do it again.

I ride a Suzuki VZ800 (Cruiser)

I like the upright riding position and the comfort that comes with it. I chose the VZ due to the inverted forks and surprising cornering abilities, lots of fun.

I'll probably add a standard or naked to my stable at some point. Maybe a track bike down the road if I find the time/money to commit to it.

Why?
-it was cheap, cost a case of beer
-standard seating position
-easy to wrench on
-livin' in the past!

Seems most charts show the 300 has almost a straight line of torque from about 4.5K rpm to redline......

Burgman 650

It can do what any bike can do

Nice... 1975ish?

I ride a new gixxxxxxxer and I don't care who likes it. It's quick, comfortable and I'm not ready for chrome yet. :D

ninja 650, It was cheap I couldn't afford anything nicer and I wanted something faster than my old 250.

Come on guys, stop it with the burgman jokes. The guy like his scoot and recommends to every man woman and child that asks. No big deal you would do the same if you're that excited about your bike.

Methinks you need to add Sport/Touring. Touring to me are for the "big" boys like goldies or ultras.

sv650s, it was the only bike I liked that's not supersport which I could afford.

Did you end up deciding what ride you were gonna get?

I've got some dyno charts that illustrate slightly different profiles.

The point is; a Ninja 300 simulates engine characteristics of of a 600cc super sport closer than 250's or a CBR500. Which is only one of the reasons I chose it.

06 R6, because I like to go fast, and if you ain't first, you're last.

I ride a BMW R1200GSA. Why? Well its a great all around bike for me, no issues darting across town with it, its of room for groceries or whatever I want to put in the large panniers, it is also a fantastic touring bike. LARGE fuel tank, tons of storage and some tech goodies to play with. Would I do it again? Without a doubt. It is the second GS I have owned and the best bike I have ever ridden. The only thing I would trade it in for would be a new liquid cooled GSA. Waiting a few years before making that jump, not interested in beta testing a new model.

Currently a GSX-R750. In a year or two I will likely get a naked, less powerful street bike and track prep the GSX-R750. It's too tempting to just hamfist the throttle when approaching a curve to get a decent lean angle. Most GTA twisties, including the 507, require HTA172 speeds to get a lean =(
