Race season is approaching and some of us are slowly getting out track/race bikes ready

Just a good way to share any little of large improvements on work you did on your bike

Adjusted the Shifter, thinking in going GP but I need some washers and also need to convert the street bike
Fitted my track body work
Dremel down my foam seat
Put in the front fender
Screwed in my windscreen

Small stuff but its therapy for me to work on the bike

Opened the trailer and showed my book keeper's son. My bikes have been ready since October... almost a shame that I don't have any work to do to them, really.

I moved mine out of the way to get the GSX-R out of hibernation today!
Some small stuff needs to go on, Zero Gravity windscreen, TechSpec and it's pretty much ready to go.

When does everybody start hitting the track?
I'm thinking May...

You were out today, I am pretty sure I saw you east of Scarborough sometime between 1 and 2 i think

For me SOAR practice Weekend in May

I installed Power Commander V, Autotune and smog block off plates today. Took her out for a shakedown and she's making awesome power. Thought I'd feel/notice the taller gearing I installed (went from -2/+1 530 to -1/+2 520), but not so, still brings the front up without thinking :) Super nice not having POP POP POP on deceleration now! Woot for smog plates!!

I forgot to calibrate my speedo for the new sprockets, hopefully I remember before the big ride tomorrow.

Only things left to install are: Two waterproof USB ports up front (one for gopro, one for ipod), Ram steering stem mount for iPod Touch/lap timer, rear facing camera (not sure where to mount yet).

First track day is April 7th at TMP!! Can't wait, hopefully it doesn't snow!

I go to Z1 to pick up the GSX-R tomorrow (street bike) with its new owner. Only problem is that I have to change the tires and rotors over so I can put the carbon wheels on the #9. So I guess I'm doing bike work this weekend after all. If my luck holds, I'll be back next weekend to pick up the RSV4.

Drove north and got the toy hauler out of storage. Picked up R6. Just need to get the bodywork painted and some new rubber and I'm good to go for May 4th. New clipons look great. Thanks Harald S.

Spent yesterday putting Spiegler lines on the new 4-pot Brembos, installed XRAC pads and bled the system. Installed captive spacers and spools on the rear. I changed my tires over the winter (actually, my brother did it), so I am almost ready to go. Just need to check the valve clearances and belt tension and get last year's bug guts off, and I am ready.

Hey Johnny!

Came across one of your posts back in 2011 about getting a bike safety-ed for a good price

Would you still be able to do that?

My name is Hoki and my email address is talktohoki@gmail.com

Thanks!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it actually a no-no to have your track/race tires standing in the cold dry air during the winter? I thought it's so, which is the only reason I haven't installed my slicks yet.

Just put on my brake guard. Now I just need to rig up the chain guard and I should be good to go (other than bondo/ painting everything lol

Removed my old generic numbers and replaced them with my new custom ones from John Bickle.

I gave my bike a good spanking today, made sure everything is in order for TMP on April 7th. Love how much power it makes in the cold :) Everything working good, new fork goodies are SO nice!!! Autotune did lots of tuning today. Can't wait for TMP.

its bad to leave any hypersport, or race tires out in the freezing cold. My poor pirelli DOTS, spent all winter saying...i should really take those off. *shrugs*

Yes. You will likely have blue all over them now... which is the compound that makes tires work. When it comes out of the rubber, the tire has less grip. Age, cold, heat, will lower grip.

New coolant hoses, flushed coolant from system (3x drain/fill, heat up inbetween of course). Refill with water/water wetter.
Put bodywork back on.
Sat on it making "VROOM VROOM" sounds.
Took my street bike for a ride.

Oops. My new front has been on the bike in the (very unheated) garage since January while I was fitting up some calipers and waiting for a warm day to do the lines. The rear has been on the rim in the basement. I figured heat was bad but cold should be fine. Oh boy.
