I found it very easy to drive. It has a fully automatic transmission and a drag-car like steering wheel; once you clue in to the very small amounts of steering input needed to make a turn, it is a blast to drive. I could roar up a sand dune in CFB Borden at 30kmh and then come to a stop, perfectly balanced, on the knife edge at the top. Took a bit of practice, mind you, and I almost lost a couple of Crew Commanders out the turret hatch, but it was a lot of fun!

No, the APC (Armoured Personnel Carrier) had "tiller bars", as did the M-548 Ammunition Carrier. The Leopard Main Battle Tank and the M-109 Self Propelled Howitzer both had small steering wheels.
