My old SV I felt had all the power I would ever need on the street,cant imagine the strom being any different, only flaw the SV had was the ergos

Also I understand the bmw's arent known for being particularly characterful either(f800)

Here's a 2010 Bonneville with around 10,000km for $5400. Not sure it's going to shoot you out of a cannon, but it's a nice comfy bike capable of 2 up riding.

Sorry for the late reply just back from a test camp with the roadtrek.

I've been thinking DL's, BUT I did a test ride on a Weestrom a couple summers back and could not keep my feet on the pegs for the whole ride. They were too high and my legs felt cramped. I think someone mentioned peg lowering kits?...

And I'm struggling to believe the DL650, 2up will pull you up to speed on an on ramp like my GL1200 (there's no replacement for displacement). For those two reasons I'm thinking I'd like to sample a DL1000.

As to ride length: I expect we will be out the entire day but at a pace that includes lots of of off seat time to check out roadside america.

Thanks for the input, it's time to start sitting on bikes again.

if you're going used I would try to find something newish like this. this had very few kms and I would have tried to pounce on it for 6-6.5 K.

The ones from post 25 and later are 1000's.
