Went on a really fun drive last night

Sadly this was not on a bike, but I am always trying to find twisty roads and some of you may appreciate this. I had heard of the forks of the credit road from a friend and after seeing it on google maps I was pretty ecstatic to check it out and made up a little route

I live in vaughan so I started up 27, went to sideroad 17 which was a real huge blast. Followed that all the way until airport road (it becomes castlederg at some point) and then hopped north over to old baseline road which I followed all the way to credit road which turned out to be a dirt road. took that to the grange side road which i also found out was dirt, I guess its best I wasnt on my bike. These are some serious dirt roads, theyre nicely packed and smooth but very much just as twisty and hilly as the forks, including a tight switchback and lowered traction. I almost ran into two deer on these two specific roads, had one trip in front of the car as it was dashing out of the way.. i was sliding none the less. from there I went to hurontario, and up to the forks, followed them into town and took bush to winston churchill south towards king road. I also didnt know winston churchhill turned into dirt for a while. King road all the way to 27 and back home

Took me about 2 hours at a.. spirited pace.

My next excursion will look like this:

Should be a blast :D google says 3 hours  yeah right

Other than the few dirt roads some of these roads are a DREAM.

a dream? dude you need to dream BIG - lol

well, a dream within an hour of toronto anyway

well worth the drive some time.

I've only made the trips at night, I avoid traffic and likely police, at least I hope anyway. I stay within 20~ of the posted limit mostly, I don't really kick it up a notch until I know the roads a bit more. Generally I know I can double the posted speeds, but such is not always the case so I like to give myself some learning time

Noticed you don't actually start/stop in the same place. You're having an affair with a neighbor and are trying to shake a possible tail aren't you? ;)

hopefully you had a passenger with full G status.
and it wasnt after midnight.

maybe in 2 years you can go see a restricted movie

Ahhahaha

Haters gonna hate. Pardon me for showing you some wicked fun roads to ride on

Wicked? One hairpin does not wicked make. Caledon OPP have all kinds of little hideaways. Gawking van drivers. Not for me. Go big or stay home.

I guess some people are never entertained by anything. There are enough huge rolling sweeping blind turns than I can count that get the adrenaline pumping while riding in a car let alone a bike. I've not seen an OPP yet, but I don't doubt they have their hideaways

enjoy riding your on ramps and other boring flat cookie cutter city roads and showing off at timmies. go big or stay home? where do you go big? the stuff ive posted is the "biggest" there is around.. hell, aside from mosport id wager these roads are more fun than the race tracks around. Sorry I don't have time to book a flight to the nurburgring during the week

you guys are just killing him, be nice!

OP it looks good, thanks for sharing.

Thats some crazy routes man. Some day, when I've learned more, I'll give em a shot.

C'mon dude my grandmother's backyard would be more challenging than these soccer-mom backroads of Vaughan and Bramptom.

OP, some of us are just giving you a ribbing because the Forks is probably the most famous motorcycling road in the GTA. :)

There are also some awesome roads a few hours northeast of Toronto; check out the Muskoka and Kawartha Lakes region on Google Maps. And for awesome overnight trips check out Pennsylvania.

Meh...if you don't mind a bit of broken pavement then route 307 north to Val des Bois and beyond from just outside Wakefield in Quebec is a pretty epic route. One of the best I've found recently. If they paved it I would ride it every day......like the cheerleader from glee.

Wakefield is a great place to stop for a rest or a base for exploring other roads nearby. Some great roads to tremblent near there.

Tell me why I should go riding in Pennsylvania at nightime?
Allow me to translate. What they are saying, is due to the length of time to get to Pennsylvania, it's worthwhile to stay the night in order to have sufficient time to enjoy the riding in the area.
