Went down. Pictures of damage, can this be buffed out?

So last Sunday, on our way to 507, I made bad call when I decided to take a different line than the rider infront of me. While cornering, I saw gravel, panicked, and then you know the rest, luckily there was grass followed by a ditch.

I'm grateful for no flesh wounds, just a bruised ego.

The bike runs fine, nothing broke... but the rash on my fairings (from the gravel) are bothering me. I don't really care of scratches, I just want it to be less obvious.

Suggestions?

Can anyone suggest a product I can use, or a body shop I can go to smooth things up?

The crank case will be replaced probably, but the plastics, I don't know...

(OR anyone have any stock R6 - 2007 Charcoal Fairings for sale?)

Are OEM replacements sold? are the prices reasonable? anyone have any hookups?

Thanks,
M

R6 fairings will be sold at a local Yamaha dealership but when you get the price make sure you have some vaseline handy.
I just ordered a full set of F4i fairings for under $600 (which will probably be the price of one fairing piece from the dealership (Most likely over $2,000 for a full set).
http://www.auctmarts.com/main/ might be your best bet for getting replacements fairings.
I ordered mine from cbrfaings.com but the only specialize in CBR fairings, Auctmarts has a good reputation and were going to be my #2 choice.
As for buffing it out, it looks fairly deep and through the paint in some sections which means you would have to repaint it.

The bodywork looks like itll need to be refinished. The gravel likely cut through the paint, so it cant be buffed out. Even if it didnt, im not sure that you can buff or polish flat paint without affecting the gloss level.

With regards to the crank case cover, ive had a couple of those come through the shop off track bikes with some pretty nasty rash. In most cases the cuts & gouges can be sanded out & the part powdercoated to like new condition.

Sorry to hear about your crash...good that your ok!

As for the fairings as others said it looks fairly deep, heres hoping you can find replacements at a reasonable cost.

Damage to fairings looks pretty mild actually, someone here should be able to paint those. As for the engine covers, you can get the case guards as suggested, or get aftermarket covers - stronger and cheaper than stock, usually.
