Sounds like murder.

Oh puhleeze. A few handfuls of spike strips thrown into both ends of this assclown crowd (this was the blockade on the DVP during the ride I mentioned) would have caused nothing other than some of these idiots dropping their bikes at 10kph with flat tires and a bunch more arrests instead of them riding away at ludicrous speed when the cops showed up potentially killing someone.

Time and place is very important if they choose to use physical intervention against bikes. For situations like the pic, I think the strips are a decent solution (although I'm not sure what happens if someone dumps their bike trying to avoid the strip and lands on the strip with their body).
