Welders needed!

Hi,

I low sided my bike last week and I realized that my fairing mount is bend so it the fairings are not mounted properly.

Does anyone is the forum have access to a welding equipment that I can fix the mount with? It will be a small job and I am willing to compensate.

I have attached pictures below (it is the black piece that is broken)

ps.. is it a good idea if I super glue a piece of cracked fairing?

Save your money and buy a tube of JB Weld

It's better to plastic-weld it. There was a guy here who did that (he fixed my fairings and did a good job). I don't remember his user name, but I have his email. PM me if you want it.
 
Why not just get R&G frame sliders to avoid such damage in the future which would required you to remove these in the first place ?
 
The frame sliders can't replace my fairing mount.. I will still need them to be fixed
 
I think I have a set of them at the shop. PM me and remind me to look.
 
hey look into MOTOSLIDERS for the sv650, they replace those mounts you busted up. so it doubles as a frame slider and holds the fairing in place. no cuts required. and look good too :)
 
Welding those will be tricky, even if you know what the metal is. The problem will be getting the angle right, which will be needed to get it to fit properly.

I've tried welding the support for the top bag on the Trophy, and so far I've made two attempts - once freehand, once with a jig I made, and still haven't got it right. Next step is to put spacers on the bike to duplicate the fairing thickness at the attachment points and weld it in place.
 
The usual way is to assemble (everything on the bike), get the parts in the right place (faring aligned), tack weld it (covering anything that cannot get a spark on it), remove it, carefully weld so it does not warp.

Not always possible but pretty much the only way other than an exact jig to get it done.
