I got a ruined clutch too... I will be out of commission until friday.

Planning for a saturday/friday ride next week.

The bike was running on three cylinders, thought it was a simple spark plug issue. when they took apart the bike they saw the plugs... which were probably stock and and in horrible condition. Airfilter looked like it had never been changed, so i replaced it with k&n

K&N oil filters aren't too bad. Way over priced, and about 4th or 5th in terms of filtering and quality. Their air filters on the other hand, don't filter anything, you'd be almost as good just running without one! Only replace your air filter with a dry media replacement (BMC, etc.). Aftermarket air filters flow about 1% better than stock, so if you wanna drop $100 on an additional 1% be my guest. Most stock air filters are cleanable and will last you forever!

I assume the K&N you put in it is the KN-401 cartridge filter? Because it's a cartridge filter the quality of the actual construction is less important (no anti drain back valve, no bypass valve, etc.) In order of raw filtering ability here is the list:

Purolator PureOne: not listed for your bike
Mobile 1 EP: not listed for your bike
Baldwin: P148
Wix: 24941
NAPA Gold/Premium: 4941
Your K&N 401

I hope that helps. You should be able to buy the Baldwin filter for $6 from:
