Who's still riding??

I was tempted today as it was really nice out midday - sunny but too damn busy :(

Really want to play on the Metzlers a bit - maybe up through Campbellville over to Guelph for a coffee at Planet Bean and loop around....see if the cold weather gear actually works below 6,

I should have taken a picture last night: Me washing/winterizing my two bikes in the evening on my driveway with the houses around me lit up with Christmas lights. It's nice to be able to say I rode in December again. That's it for me though. Too much salt/sand on the roads.

Got the FeelFree`s on the 09 too? We put a new set on the 05 and they have been AWESOME :)

Damn you must have riding a fair bit this year - those Metz's were new just two weeks before you bought it.
They are indeed sweet - missed them right away - could never get the 2009 to settle into a corner the way the 2005 would with the Metz.

Tip from LeDude to run 40 front and 42 rear really makes them keep their profile and wear longer.

What did you pay for the FeelFree?

I've been today on 407, 401, 410, 427 S, Don Valley, and Gardiner lol just came in actually =)

Awesome ride minus the de-icing liquid truck squirting brine on me a a little on the Gardiner. Almost took the colour off my shoes I see.

$260 or so tax in w/ shipping from Petes.

Guess I have to pump em up, was running them at 32/36. Might keep it there for the bit of cold riding. Between my Dad and I, we put about 10,000km on it.

I remember riding to the Ice House in January a few years ago
snow on the roadside and the R1 kickin' up salty dust
spent more time washing the bike getting rid of salty death

This new liquid de-icing spray that we've started to use from just a few years ago, would is be safe to assume if a road has been sprayed with that, and you can see all the roads are freshly paved with it and you are 100% sure its this spray, that the chance of running over black ice is none?

I can't tell the road surface difference when its all black & wet looking at night, it takes a while to tell if it's recent wet flurries, melted snow, or rain, mist or this de-icng liquid, sometimes its hard to tell when the weather is changing so fast, like little snow in the morning, with sun out, then little rain, and de-icing, heading back at night.

ps: still riding only on days i can bare it, for all those still riding everyday big props!

Still riding to work every day myself, and have gone on a few random rides around the GTA/surrounding area to visit friends etc. Heading out to the Port Hope/Cobourg area tonight -- I really, really hope I don't come across any black ice. That said, without the heated gear I'd probably have put the bike away by this point. Rode til late November last year, hoping I might push it to Christmas or so this year -- as long as there's no significant snow/ice accumulation, I'll be riding.

Parked the big bike but still riding the Triumph Scrambler. Fantastic in December,,,,,,hopefully will make for a shorter winter!

Since we have no show or ice on the ground in Oakville I am still riding to work just about every day. Switched to 10W-40 synthetic motor oil and found that the GS500F starts up right away and warms up faster then dino oil. Planning to ride down to see the Motorcycle Show tomorrow afternoon. It should be above freezing.
Keep warm by wearing my ski jacket and pants over my riding gear.

I rode today. I have good tolerance for cold and hate the heat. All layered a tshirt, long sleeve, hoodie, and a vest. I need some proper winter gloves and long underwear under my jeans. Otherwise, it feels great! :p

you know some people call me warrior, i rode in the rain 2 weeks ago, and i am still riding to work today

today temp is like -5 but on the highway doing 100+ my fingers feel like in the arctic even in my leather gloves. It's really not that cold to the body and legs just need some warmer gloves

Parked the bike last week - but looks like next week is going to be +9!!!!!!! In Oshawa there is liquid salt (brine) on the road....i wouldn't mind go for a short spin, oh well i hope we have a short winter this year! ;-)

Lots of icy patches on the road yesterday - I guess small puddles that had frozen over. I've always ridden through the winter and never had an accident, but you have to keep heads up all the time - really be conscious of grip - or lack thereof. Also try to avoid being near curbs, where ice also tends to build up. Usually I wouldn't go out on a day like yesterday because those sudden temperature drops are the worse for leaving those sporadic ice patches - but I had someplace to go and no other way to get there. Need to go out again today, but waiting until the temps get above freezing in the afternoon.

I might actually winterize my bike this year - taking 1/2 hour to get ready for an hour trip sucks and want to save my pennies to go back out west in the summer.
