Weather

Sister in Lindsey got slammed hard. And a buddy in Garden Hill had the power out overnight. Here in SWO we saw none of it.

Weekend wasn't as rainy as they had guessed, Toronto was spared from the freezing rain. Seen friends posts from around GTA and it wasn't pretty, plus power outages.

Looks like another week of crummy/gloomy weather though.
We didn't get the 25-40mm they predicted but we had enough to make a mess. Power outage will probably be five days or more.

Accelerated Technologies:

ICE STORM:
Our thoughts go out to everyone in central Ontario, who got hit with this ice storm over the weekend. Here we received over an inch of ice on our trees and powerlines, causing most of them to come down.
As a result of this Accelerated Technologies will be closed for at least two days as we clear our driveway and Hydro lines before power can be restored and access to our buildings can be restored. Even our phone lines are on the ground so anyone trying to call the shop will not even get our answering service, unfortunately.
Please sit tight if you need us as we will be down clearing our property for safe restoration of business. We will send a post out when we were back up and running along with our apologies for this unavoidable delay.
Many thanks go out to our first responders, Hydro One crews who are going to be insanely busy for the next foreseeable future and the Bell telephone workers as they try to repair our infrastructure.
Wish us luck and we will be back up and running soon!!!

Yeah friend also in Lindsey lots of trees down, and no power.

My daughter lives in Peterborough and was supposed to be moving to Lakefield tomorrow. Both are almost literal disaster zones, but on the bright side her place in Peterborough apparently just got power back (she’s been staying with us at home) so the stuff in her fridge and freezer should at least be ok - less then 24 hours apparently.

Her new place in Lakefield remains to be seen - it’s on a little road kinda outside of town so it may take a bit.

Reminds me of years ago in Feb we had power outage in Toronto north of Bloor st w. from say Jane to Islington..someone was about to get off and said 'what do I do about my food, it could spoil' I was like, boggle..it's -5, put it outside lol.

Not a deep thinker lol.

Apparently the Hydro was only back on for a few hours and went out again according to her landlord.

And just to add insult to injury another weather alert just popped up on my phone for more freezing rain Wednesday.
