Polling companies aren't social media. Seems the cons are huddling as their support falls rather sharply and offering attack ads on Carney.
I'd be quite happy with any minority - that said, Carney is best qualified to dent the dumpf.
I agree with that as do a strong plurality of other Canadians....
  • Nanos Research Poll: Carney is seen as the best candidate to negotiate with U.S. President Donald Trump, with 40% of respondents favoring him over Pierre Poilievre (26%)
There was a lot of crowing last time from the right until the Libs ended with a completely uncalled majority.
Cons in Ontario, Libs in Ottawa is the historical balance....and Quebec wants nothing to do with PP.
Canadians generally don't like snap elections calls....pretty sure they will welcome it just now.

Gotta say that the elephant in the room for opinion polls is who actually is willing to take time out of their day to actually participate in taking one.
Let that thought marinade for a minute.

Charlie Angus is an idiot. If communism had a sphincter, that's what it would look like.
I can’t stand the politician Charlie Angus. He’s won 7 consecutive federal elections as an NDP MP. He knows the next election is a write off, so he retired.

Angus will collect an indexed pension of $125k/year and a full benefit plan for the rest of his life.

He’s a bit of a hometown hero in his riding (Timmins). I’ve met him several times, mostly at the small Northern taverns he plays with his band Grevious Angels. He’s not a bad entertainer, he sings and plays guitar, a mixture of Stomping Tom, Tragically Hip, and Irish Rovers. Get a few drinks in him and he’ll go off the rails with a raging Sex Pistols cover.

In person he’s not the same as the wimpy, whiny, NDP character we see on TV.

To illustrate the complete uselessness of polls, here is a recent one.

While the big polling companies have a tiny bit more credibility, there are tons of adjustments made to the data to correct for who they expect to vote versus who they polled. The output is still garbage.

We're talking Liberal party member and all around cheerleader Nik Nanos?

:D

So he's a curated a'hole.

I’m not sure PC support is falling, polls still have odds of PCs winning at 99%.

Libs have picked up a lot of Libs that moved to the NDP, that doesn’t help them much.

But I’m concerned.

Libs and NDP are clinging to power like a middle eastern, dictators - they have clearly prioritized their hides ahead of the Canadian people and democracy. My biggest fear is Jagmeet will find Carney trustworthy enough to reestablish the bromance and elimination a non confidence call.

Carney, facing an existential threat from the USA could use the constitution to possibly delay a Federal election for another year.

Strange how PP and company are huddled making attack ads on Carney since they are so certain they will govern unimpeded.
New data from the non-profit Angus Reid Institute finds former Bank of Canada Governor Mark Carney surging as the hypothetical leader of the Liberals. With Carney at the head of the party, vote intention has tightened to a three-point gap between the Liberals and Conservatives, with 40 per cent supporting the latter and 37 per cent the former. This, seemingly at the cost of the New Democrats, who have lost half of their vote intention (21% to 10%) since late December. Under Carney, 42 per cent of 2021 NDP voters say they would support the Liberals, while 44 per cent would vote for the party again.

All polls for the last decades are garbage designed solely to influence election results. They are completely detached from how people actually vote. I said that when they said PP was ahead I say that when they say it's a tie, I say that in the crazy poll where Bernier gets 10 times the votes of Carney.

As spoken before, PP numbers are solid, the numbers you’re seeing for carney are from the ndp jumping ship running to the liberals

And that impacts things how? A drop from 45% to 40% in a very short period from a right leaning pollster does not seem very solid.
Slam dunk is now turned to a fading maybe and Canada still has some time once Carney is in place depending on if he calls an early election.
🍿

I can definitely see carney stepping down from the competition if he feels the numbers aren't in his favour

I would say he has won the support of the liberal party members who will elect him leader shortly and therefore PM and is generally accepted as the next PM.

He is also favoured over PP in the polls you don't believe in so it's immaterial to you. :sneaky:

Are these the same criminals that backed Trudy through all his scandals?
