I just heard on the news.
Because motorcycle riders drive in an open air situation, it is quite easy to breath in any virus from cars that are traveling ahead of them.

So motorcycle riding is canceled until futher notice.

not to worry. I figure if you're first to get it, you'll be first to get over it. keep some money in the bank for income...

heard italy now has the nick name corona ville. and yup, I have a warped sense of humour

I've sealed my helmet so I have an airtight breathing bubble during rides. No new air goes in or out until I get home.

So Corona won't kill you but you will suffocate. ;)

Sorry. It's like a common cold. You can get it again. And again.

They want 6' of personal space to minimize transmission. A swarm of bikes is much safer (wrt Covid transmission) than having people in a car. Justine should give a bike to everyone in Canada that wants one.

Do you have a source for that? Everything I've seen shows that you do build an immunity to it and that those that have tested positive a 2nd time is from an error in testing. Human error, false negative leading to discharge from hospitalization followed by a positive test shortly after, contaminated swabs etc. are all factors to the few patients that have tested positive twice.

From Coronavirus: Can you catch Covid-19 twice?

Can you catch coronavirus twice?

Dr Lindsay Broadbent told LBC's Eddie Mair that it seems people will develop short term immunity and once a person recovers from the virus, it is unlikely they will contract it again in a short period of time.

"However we don't know how long that immunity will last," Dr Broadbent said, and explained that our immunity for certain ailments such as the common cold or influenza do not last for our entire life.

"If that's the case with coronavirus we could be looking at a cyclical infection - but we really don't know at this stage."

anecdotal of course, because there's little human experience with this
but a patient in Japan, after 3 weeks in hospital, was discharged virus free
they have now been infected again, but who knows if they have generally good immune response?

From Can you get coronavirus twice or does it cause immunity?

"... the feeling is once you’ve had a specific coronavirus, you are immune. We don’t have enough data to say that with this coronavirus, but it is likely.”

This means that people who initially recovered are more likely to relapse rather than get reinfected with the virus.

According to one study, people with mild infections can test positive for the virus by throat swabs “for days and even weeks after their illness”.

But, that doesn’t mean it isn’t possible to contract the disease again, especially in those who are immunocompromised.

“The immune response to Covid-19 is not yet understood,” the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) explains. “Patients with MERS-CoV infection are unlikely to be reinfected shortly after they recover, but it is not yet known whether similar immune protection will be observed for patients with Covid-19.”

an FYI tho, corona is spread via droplets, so someone sneezes or coughs near you, or on a surface that you end up touching, it is not airborne, shouldnt really affect motorcycle riders.

Turns out having a nurse for a wife has its advantages.

Hopefully it's not connected in any way to the rest of your riding gear, or farting could be unpleasant.

Willing to bet motorcycle courses will be canceled this year.
I understand but I really wanted to get my M this year ??

You don't need a course to do your M. It is better and easier and a great idea.
But you can go directly to the Ministry to get the M.

I like the courses better. I signed up with RiderPlus but the situation is probably going to get worse by the time my classes start.

And I am not desperate enough to wait in line with hundreds of people during this virus outbreak. I will just wait until next year :]
