Watch your six

Yeah - someone on the Burgman site posted it up. Good on the rider for making it available.

Of course we could always do this with a pair of Scala's in play

The big guy above us all is watching after you. There is still a purpose for you to be around. Give it a thought.

The big guy must be laughing like an idiot at all the people and families he is destroying in all those tornadoes he is unleashing. Give it a thought.

She didn't Crash her car. Just drove into a small ditch at the side of the road. The turn I was making was into Kirby side road east. She must have continued straight on Jane north and gone east on king Vaughan. When I was her again it was at Bathurst and king Vaughan.

Dude, you need to use commas, and periods in your sentences. Have you tried to read what you typed in the first post.? Rambling on there.

Anyway, glad you're ok and watching behind you. I know someone who was hit from behind on a country ed too.

Glad you are okay OP.

When I'm on the bike, I'm always checking my mirrors, even at traffic lights and stops.

One time on University Ave southbound stopped at Queen, I saw this car coming up fast from behind. Then a split second later, I heard tire squeeching. I had to pop my bike forward into the pedestrian crossing to avoid getting hit from behind.

My personal habit is always have the bike in gear and clutch in at stops. Never in neutral.

I actually tried one on at Altimate last year. It does work, not great detail but you can definitely tell what's coming behind you.

I'm buying one, they are much better than most bike mirrors and frankly, an ingenious solution that requires no power and no weight penalty.

This gives you the split second to jump up on the pegs and let the bike take the hit. You always want to be higher than lower.

BTW: those electronic auto-braking nannies that sense object far ahead should be mandatory on all cars.

In an unrealistic world, I'd rather we raise the bar and get the idiots who can't handle their vehicles off the street.

I was almost rear ended near Kipling and 401 on Saturday.

I stopped for a yellow, guy in a mini van behind me thought I would run it. I heard screeching tires so I accelerated up another 15 feet. The van skidded and swerved partially right and it was halfway in my lane and the right hand turn lane, exactly where I would have been had I not moved forward.

I had some choice words for the driver

You seem to have done everything correctly while she did everything wrong. But after not killing you, while in the wrong, could you not have pulled over to check on her. Or if you wanted, have a chat?

this?

i know it seemed like it was all her fault, i was not there so i can't really pas any judgement on anything. but after seeing her in the tiny ditch, did you not stop infront of her car and ask if she was okay? or atleast tell her politely say that driving distracted is a very big risk, not only to her but to others on the road?

Not as long as those idiots keep voting, and they keep getting older.

I couldn't agree more with this. Sometimes I'll be driving around and wonder how half the people on the road even have licenses/even know how to turn on a car....
The video decimi linked is pretty scary, I'm sure this type of thing happens all too often.

That's crazy, glad your okay!!

fortune had us meet up at another intersection 10 minutes later where I saw her crying hard, balling her eyes out as she pulled up along side me.
Wow, she was lucky no other accidents happened while she was driving in that state of emotional turmoil for 10 minutes. I normally check my six as I stop but don't regularly check after being stopped. Need to get into the habit of doing that.

I was near that area too on Saturday, glad you're safe.

I had similar incident earlier today.

I needed to turn left on the first street after an intersection (the street is fairing close to the intersection as well).

I signal to turn left as soon as a crossed the intersection (so so the cars behind me is aware and they can move to the right lane), and I gradually slow down enough so I can make a left turn over the streetcar tracks safety.

Suddenly, I heard the car behind me brake enough that her brake squeaked.

Sometimes I wonder if I need to get brighter rear turn signal bulbs or something. I don't want to take a chance for someone to rear end me :(

Anyone here replaced their rear turn signal bulbs with something stronger/brighter? Recommendations?
