Warning About The Hype Of Changing To All-State Insurance

You passed on grants info to me and ive managed to save a good amount of cash as a result. The response and professionalism on grant's end impressed me so i decided to share the info with others. Then people like peggy come along who contribute nothing and just yell and scream like a little child that craves attention.

Keep yelling peggy, someone will eventually listen...

Pretty sure nfq gave me Grant's info as well, the guy is absolutely top notch. Only reason for me posting in this thread is to back up Grant.

BTW Peggy, I have a bike only policy with Allstate. Neener Neener :D

I always thought 'tied selling' was prohibited. If you look up Reg. 7/00 of the Insurance Act, it's listed as an unfair and deceptive practice.

I hope this gets resolved soon
Since I'm still waiting on my new bike
And looks like I can't get on with Allstate
And refuse to go back to SF

What are my other options ?
Other then TD
All my bikes are SS

I also contacted Dan and was informed I could not get motorcycle coverage because I did not own my own home. Pleasant chap but I am still trying to process the reasoning behind that.

I got the response from Dan. This is BS though, this has to be illegal. Insurance is mandatory in Ontario, but these companies refuse to insurance sport bikes. I don't own my own home and refuse to give you my car business so you refuse to provide a quote for my bike?!

If you think its illegal escalate. (I think it is TBH)

I am hoping the FSCO compliance officer gets back to me Monday.

Can somebody give me a link where to complaint about this? My friend and I will file a complaint against this agent, or Allstate if they are the ones that truly sent this memo.

**EDIT** I just saw Two50Noob's link, I will also file a complaint to this link and to the ombudsmen.

I still think Paul1000RR's agent buddy is a liar and deceptive for not divulging to me that he got a memo from his company to close this "loophole", instead he went on with this ridiculous story that naked sport-tourers are dangerous unless they come with a house policy. Now I think he made-up the story he got a memo from Allstate, I will call Allstate head office and verify if they indeed send this memo.

FYI - The FSCO compliance guy got back to me about this.

Apparently there is no regulation about insurance companies requiring the bundling of services. TBH this sounds like its something that should be looked at as it seems a little bit anti consumer but its the Ontario insurance industry.

Peggy if you filed you complaint with I would love to here their response.

Another Peggy thread delivers

I think Peggy needs to pick up a different hobby. Puff puff pass dude. Quit hogging that ****

Dude why don't you call them pretending you're a new customer with no house or car and want insurance for your bike and see what they tell you instead of talking hogwash here, if they did insure bikes all alone I wouldn't be here complaining.

Do you have a recording of the conversation? I want to imitate

Well I think I might have ruined it for all you guys. I called another Allstate agent and demanded to speak to someone higher to complaint about their policy of tied selling. The higher up guy told me that you need a house period, when I told him I was going to take this case and complaint all the way to head office and prove to them that many riders got a stand alone policy for their bikes and not me and that I considered that baseless descrimination the Allstate agent told me that they would revise all the policies retrospectively and raise their rates if they don't have a house or simply deny them insurancr next year LOL.

I told him I dont believe him and that I will be on top of the situation every 2 weeks. I keep you guys posted.

That's smart to admit on a public forum genius. Now when someone or multiple someone's get hosed next year thanks to your efforts I'll laugh when you randomly get a punch in the throat.

Is it bad that I laugh loudly at physical violence? lol

I don't think its directly cause of Peggy. If they dont provide standalone policies then anyone who has them this year will either be grandfathered (with a higher rate possibly) in or will be dropped its just the way it will be.

On another note i think allstates policy of requiring housing is anti-consumer and slightly monopolistic. But since its not breaking the FSCO's rules i'm not sure were to take this complaint .

its sucks for ppl that don't own a home or condo
cus they wont let you get it with just renters insurance
