Warm weather riding pants suggestions?

Hey guys,
I'm looking into getting some riding pants for the warmer months. Right now I have a pair of Teknic riding pants but they're hot as hell even when riding so I'm looking for a different option.
From reading the other post I'm considering going jeans (kevlar lined or other material?) and then some of the knee/hip protector underneath it.
I've looked into leather but frankly I can't stand when my body heats up and I would be more focused on the heat and being uncomfortable instead of keeping my mind at the task at hand.

Any suggestions are greatly welcome!

I have used Joe Rocket Alter Ego 2.0's . Not bad pants, just remove the waterproof liner and there is a hip section that can zip off. Also side splits in the legs for airflow.

I wear these Dainese Knee/Shin guards: http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dainese-knee-v-guard, and honestly can't figure out why everyone isn't wearing them.

They fit perfectly under any pants I wear, and now I don't feel confident riding without them. Probably won't prevent everything but something > nothing. They also work well for me because I wear low-boots/riding shoes, and not racing boots that cover my shins.

Rider's Choice has them.

I'd also like to buy some kevlar jeans to wear over them now, but kevlar's are still so expensive. On "riding days" I wear Joe Rocket Alter Ego pants, and I took the armor out of them, because I wear these. Alter Ego's are very popular, and for good reason, but I don't think they offer a lot in the way of protection; I'd like to see more hip protection built-in.

Well, leather looks like a heat generator but it doesn't feel actually. I used one on this hot weekend with hours of riding and it all felt nice and cool. I took it off at Timmy/smoke breaks and with proper vents, it's all good.

Edit: For jacket not sure about pants. :D

Levis and CK hold up pretty well!

I have been wearing jeans for a year now, and I'm sure they're fine up to a point. Like the OP, I'm looking for some pants, too.

I'd love to have something that is safer than jeans, cool for the summer, and that I could slip on over anything (from shorts to a business suit).

I have these:

Great pair of textile/mesh pants by Motorrad (Airflow4). A tad expensive, but they're made of Dynatec (more abrasion resistant than Cordura). Plus, their black doesn't absorb heat, which is surprisingly cool in the direct sun.

Oh, and they come with knee and hip protectors, too.

Carhartt double wall dungarees.

Available in Mark's Work Warehouse for $60, can be found on sale for $50. With a little modding you can fit knee armor in them and have the best all around pants this side of $150. I wore them on my transcontinental trip last summer (5 days over 40 degrees, two over 45) and found them just right for the job. Stronger than any jeans yet don't look like motorcycle pants once you are offthe bike (not that I care about looks).

I prefer something more breathable...

Notice my body position to allow for the most flow-through of air into my crack (which tends to sweat the most on those gawd-foresaken hot days).

The above is a far cry from my normal ATGATT approach to riding (don't mind my smile, I was feeling shy):

I have the tourmaster flex. Those pants will take you from -whatever to +whatever. The have a hard shell on top, mesh, waterproof liner, and thermal liner. The hard shell zips off completely to leave you with a full mesh pant. I flew off my bike going 40-50 and the shell on top barely shows any sign of abrasion. Their only downside, which probably applies to most textile pants out there, is that the knee armor does not stay glued to your knee like a tight leather suit.

I was out a number of hours over the long weekend with my Joe Rocket Alter Ego pants (not sure of the model number, but they are the newest/ones sold currently at GP Bikes) and wasn't that hot at all. Arguably sweat more from the jacket (didn't have it converted to mesh) when stopped vs the pants. For reference I had regular jeans on underneath.

Kevlar Sliders are hot as well and in Tropical Aus it's a question of hot or hotter days.

I've just gone to a pair of comfie riding pants, armored shorts and the knee/shin protectors - cool, comfortable and as much protection as a I want on a trade off with cool.
The sliders okay on cool days but still heavy....I figure any ballistic pants are hot - better be confie with under armor.

My RS Taichi GMX Motion fully perforated leather pants feels like its got A/C in it.
On the other hand my garbage Speed and Strength jacket makes me sweat even when I don't zip it up.
Totally worth it to get the higher quality stuff.

I go commando under my Fox Leather overpants. They're thick azz leather, but they somehow vent well.... No sweat while riding in the heat over the long weekend. Even my full leather Icon Victory Hero jacket vented well with all the vent zippers open. Really impressed!

My son says I look like the Stig in black.

I use Rev'it Gear 2 pants. They are made with combination of leather and mesh. Very cool and comfortable. And they come with knees and hips protection.

I use the same combined with the Ignition Jacket and they are awesome while riding but a little on the hot side when having a coffee or sitting in traffic
