Want to take my nephew on a dirt bike...

He is 9 and rides his bicycle very well. I put him on the back of my bike a couple weeks ago at L&L for a trip around the parking lot and he seemed to love it. I was planning on taking him to http://www.cmts.org/training_for_children.aspx for the 30 minute and 2 hour lessons.

Has anyone here taken kids to this place? Any reviews or know of somewhere better?

Thanks!

I've gone to that place and know many others who have as well (with/without their children). I have nothing but good things to say about CMTS... great instructors, really approachable and great staff. Kids will have a blast there. They have an intro hill, intermediate hill, MX course, beginner to advanced trail riding.

Awesome! Thats exactly what I was looking to hear! Now, just to find the right time to bring him up there...

The other thing I forgot to mention: either bring a good lunch or call ahead and have them book/order a lunch for you. It will be standard chicken fingers/burgers/fries, because there isn't anywhere nearby to go to. The ski resort will probably be closed, if it isn't, then it will only have chips and small snack foods.

Look at http://www.trailtour.com/

I did the full day with my boys - 11 and 13 at the time. They loved it. They learned to clutch in fast...kick starting was a PITA. Lunch came with it. At the end of the day they were quite proficient riders.

My wife wanted to learn how to ride and I took her here instead of teaching her myself. She had a great day. Highly recommend it. The staff is amazing.

Awesome! Can't wait to take him! Just as an FYI to anyone considering doing this with someone else's kids (like in my case), they say that the parent has to be there to sign the waiver now. Apparently uncles aren't good enough to do so.
