Want to buy a new bike BUT

Cannot find the one i want.

My original plan was to buy a ninja 250 and then buy my old fzs600 fazer back or the successor model the fz6. However after riding the mini ninja i have grown to like plastics on a bike. And since insurance wont allow me to buy a SS i let the thought of buying an inline 4 sports bike go instead thinking of getting the newly updated 2012 ninja 650 with the parallel twin. But today i rode my buds new katana 600 and that itch started again as soon as i heard that engine roar.

So here i am as a last ditch effort to find the best bike for me with these particular specs.

-Has to be jap
-Has to have an inline 4
-Has to be fuel injected
-Has to be faired
-Has to be around 600cc(insurance...)
-A 2 piece seat preferred over a banana seat but if the machine is good then the seat doesnt really matter
-Cannot be an SS
-ABSOLUTELY CANNOT be fz6r(its a bloody menstrual stain on the fazer name)
-Cannot be CBR600F(just cannot get myself to like that bike for some reason)

Thanks in advance.

Yea I wa going to recommend a suzuki gsx650f. You can pick an 08 model for under 5-6k

I have a 12 model an it's an amazing bike. Read my review in it. I test rode the fz6 and was not impressed.

I've got an '08 GSX650F, that I bought new. It's got 50k trouble free km on it. I've replaced nothing but tires and a chain.
It's not SS fast but it will go a lot faster than I care to ride it on the street.

It's fairly easy to find full fairings for the FZ6 if you like the bike. If I were you, I'd consider FZ1 as well, bigger engine but still not SS like insurance. You can find them with full fairings or go aftermarket. CBF600 is half faired once again. Seems like all these type of bikes are ... Or the VFR, I just got one, amazing bike. Once again, a little bigger engine but insurance is still low. 4 cylinder in a V configuration sounds great, too.

CBR F4i?

F4i are still considered SS for insurance.

Hmmm. OP have you considered insuring through State Farm? They won't care if it's an SS.

07+ FZ6 has OEM lower fairings available. I like the bike without them, but they are available if you must have plastic.

To those suggesting ZZR600 - it is a carbed bike. OP wanted FI. I think FZ1 has OE fairings available as well if I remember. They were something crazy like $700 last time I checked. FZ6 is probably around the same price. I've seen some nice aftermarket ones for $300-400. The problem with aftermarket is matching the paint though. I agree with the previous poster, however, the half naked look suits these bikes.

ER6F is the same as the Ninja 650 he already mentioned and its a twin not an inline 4.

Suzuki GSX650F http://moto.suzuki.ca/Product%20Lines/Cycles/Products/GSX650F/2012/GSX650FA.aspx#Overview

I'm pretty sure this is the only one that you didn't already mention that comes anywhere near what you want.

+1 for the 650GSXF. Bought a new '10 & still having a blast every time I'm on it.

I thought the GSX650F was a carbed bike so i didnt pay any attention to it but ill look into it seems like a very good bike...maybe perfect for me.

Anything over 600 even if not SS is a heft premium increase for me since i am not 25 yet. Even tho i have been riding bikes since i was a kid back home the insurance co. throw it out of the window (given since u dont need a license to ride back home).

Yes i have but SF wont even look at me because 1. im not 25 yet & 2. i dont have a G for 5 years(i dont even have a g i got a g2)

If we lived in a place with warmer weather like texas i would have bought the zzr600 without a second thought but in toronto riding on a carbed bike is a pain in the ***, atleast to me. And if i buy a FZ6 or any other naked bike no way in hell will i put after market fairings on it, they look awesome naked and putting fairings on a street fighter is dumb imho as they have their own charm.

I was in a similar boat back when I bought my bike in '07. Wanted ~600CC, sporty but not a supersport for insurance, fuel injected. Can't say I cared about fairings or a banana seat.

I was actually going to get a SV650, but back in ~06-07 SV's were way overpriced so by chance I ended up with my FZ6. Probably looked at about five SV's before looking at an FZ6, which I bought on the spot. Turned out the FZ6 suits my riding a lot more than a SV650 would have. Either way, for someone in your position, those are probably the two bikes I would be looking at, and both have OEM lower fairings available.

There's also the Ninja 650 and GSX650F to consider.

YZF600R, I believe they were produced from 97 to 06 (iirc), mine is an 01. Sport touring with good looks and from what I've come to understand, its a well rounded and reliable bike. It does have the one piece seat though, but I've seen the solo caps on some folks rides.

What agent are you talking to? You only need to be 21, not 25. And when they say G for 5 years they don't mean your full G, they mean ANY G (G1+G2+G must equal 5 years).

Call Katherine and she'll let you know the absolutely exact day you can sign up with SF: (866) 930-1221

Good luck on your bike and insurance search :)

I was sure you were headed in the FZ6R direction before you said no to them... I HATE them too, they should not have given them the FZ6 designation as they are inferior in every single way to a slightly older bike.

Take a look at some of the FZ8 models, there is one that is half faired called the Fazer8. And the white and red FZ8 is a sick looking bike.
